i did a California road trip a few years back, it was 13 days and went from LA to crater lake in Oregon via route 1 and then came back down through the national forest and hit Lake Tahoe. one of the better trips that i have taken with my dad.

I have a 2018 rs5 and it’s nardo, I’ve had a touch time getting the Little Rock chips fixed in it (bought used previous owner didn’t clear wrap) it’s been trick to match. He did a good job must have sanded it and what not but maybe a chip is harder to blend but you can see them still a little. A lot better than it was

I drove from Seattle, WA to Austin, TX. Definitely plan your route before going. Oregon and Washington State are a must. Las Vegas is a must, but the best of them all is Jackson Hole, WY! Ruston Point in Washington State is also super badass and so is Crater Lake in Oregon. The Utah arches are also very cool. Safe travels bro

Coming from Bakersfield to NorCal use Interstate 5 instead of Highway 99. There’s tons of construction right now on 99 and I5 has a higher speed limit and more open road. Mind you, either way it’s a 7 hour stretch👍

My recommendation is US 101 highway. Takes you along the coast of Oregon. Highway runs from CA to WA.

New Mexico is pretty interesting state to drive thru in Taos has curvy mountain roads just watch out for the moose everywhere. Also the sunsets are pretty epic out there in the middle of nowhere.

Might be a bit out of the way of your planned route, but check out Crater Lake in Oregon. Kind of a boring drive up through the Umpqua forest but really nice when you get there

Drive to Denver first. Stop in Dallas, get some food then head your way to Amarillo TX where you’ll see the Palo Duro Canyons which is the grand canyon of Texas. It’s on the same route to Denver. Then you can drive to Colorado Springs, rest up and start your journey the next day. Drive up to Denver, go to Rocky Mountain national park and drive your RS6 up trail ridge road. I think it’ll be an amazing driving experience. Then head back down, make your way to towns like Breckinridge, vail, Aspen for skiing. Rest in one of those towns and spend time there. Head your way to telluride which is the Switzerland of America. From Telluride, you have an option of driving to Salt Lake City or to go straight down to Vegas. Do whatever you want in Vegas for how ever many days and then head your way to LA. In LA, you can have canyon drives. You can drive the PCH up to San Francisco. Do whatever you want there, go on the Golden Gate Bridge, the redwoods, etc. If you have more time, then you can go to Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. If not, then head your way back south and drive back to Vegas, from Vegas you can drive to the Grand Canyon, head your way to Phoenix, drive through New Mexico, pass El Paso and get your way back to Houston. There are a lot of different ways you can do this route, so let me know if you wanna see a shorter and easier way. If you have less time, I’d recommend driving to Yosemite and Lake Tahoe from Vegas and then make your way to San Francisco, go down the PCH to LA, then drive straight to the Grand Canyon, then Phoenix, through New Mexico (stop by white sands), to El Paso, then San Antonio (do a Hill Country drive), back home to Houston.

I drove from PA to CA 2 times last year. Once to rally and once just to say I did it. Its cool but if your not buddy's with your dad I doubt you will make it the full way as you really spend a lot of together time in the car. I did the trips with my wife, but couldn't have imagined doing it with my father.

Hey man If you plan coming thru Oregon there’s a lot of nice places out here There’s Crater lake to check out some winding roads that has a sick as view. It’s like the California Grand Canyon but with trees an not as dry looking An lots bunch of hiking areas The beach in Oregon is pretty cool Also Has some nice passes in a snowboarding places to go too Portland downtown tho pretty lame. bunch of homeless ppl so don’t go there but nice looking city from far away Come check it out
