Her indifference hit harder when just a moment a go when both of them were on the dead line he declared his love for her. But isn't it funny how the roles changed? 5 years a go she meant the same, if you die I'll die with you but he decided to "die" by himself leaving her alone but now every one is on HBY side. They'll both die for each other but only HBY decision is the correct one. I was happy to see that she didn't show to him any feelings (even tho she was feeling something inside very clearly) of a possible forgiveness, she didn't abandoned herself for 5 years just for a little sacrifice of him. And seeing that HBY doesn't know how to treat her with such indifference is so refreshing to see bcz he doesn't have the control over her anymore

I hate how they made Niao Niao so weak in this second part of the series when in the first part she beat two girls at one time but she couldn't fight to save her life.. Love how he never let her go but the made her weak I hated it..

This was actually explained in the book. The book mentions because she’s been with queen in the palace for years her body is not as it used to be and has become physically weaker as palace etiquette is very restrained and restricts her from pretty much any unruly or strong physical activities. Pretty much meaning she’s grown lax since staying in the palace for so long. She laments this herself in the book, though I can’t remember if it was this exact scene where she thinks this but it was after she entered the palace. Also you have to remember, after leaving the palace LJT has been living in the north and doing laundry for LBY for a long time. The harsh conditions and all that laundry wringing has to have strengthened her LOL.

@@Hgvyygjhbhjguyh The book really didn't make sense because honestly she should of been weaker when she was frail and dying from being sick but when she goes to a better environment she get weak that is why I still say they should not of made me weak if they didn't in the beginning because she was starved and left for dead and she was still strong in real life that makes you weaker illnesses takes a toll on the body. Plus she was strong enough to build and remake tools for use so that didn't really explain it for me or maybe I looked too deep. Thanks for the explanation.

Tbh I saw the last scenes with her weaker as explained by her deep depression. What happened in those 5 years weakened her because mentally she was so broken so it was easy for me to accept this. She's still a fighter, but her body grew weak

Its probably cause of Marvelous Woman drama, that Netizens created a fuss about a cat dying, so producers and everyone had to come out and clarify that no animal was harmed, and the owner of the cat with the cat had to come out and clarify, my guess is that the producers here didn't want to go through that, then everyone and their mothers know that actress is safe and sound after that scene.

Wu Lei's horse riding in this clip is truly epic. I have watched it so many many times and I cant help but feeling amazed by it. I have seen him making the horse to stand up in 2 legs. Pretty remarkable thing when I think he is a city boy. He is Shanghai born boy. How come?

Shanghai born but raised in Chengdu, so Wu Lei shares same special mandarin language as ZLS although they were not in same schools. He started before cameras as a 3 years old, and learned to ride when he was 7, he is a fitness and sports addict, very remarkably taking care of his body features with the help of carefully selected coaches (he's got his own studio since he was 16, so does the choosing himself including scripts to act in), despite doing his stunts himself. He did sustain injuries, but not from falling from a horse, not that I've read about anyway. He nevertheless manages to recover quickly and makes a point not to hold up productions because of passing health concerns such as burns or a prop exploding into his face and almost taking out one eye (2021). "Leilei" is a very interesting young actor : I also admire the way he used his eyes to convey what his rigid stance, totally fitting for a princely commander in the story, made difficult. It showed throughout the conflict and duality of the character, fostered by the founder of the eastern Han dynasty as "11th son" (Shiyilang). All of Wu Lei's moves in the drama showed exquisite control, and one of my favorite scenes is the tango/self defense one, from the moment LBY entered and talked to CSS despite her turning her back on him. Despite the protagonists being imaginary, a lot in the LLTG drama did convey an impression of the history (food, accessories, woodwork..) sufficiently interesting to arouse curiosity about it and the acting, at least for me and presumably also for many of the millions who watched it, despite its length (it was not too long for me, I would not have minded a few more episodes for the end.) I'm going back to explore more of Leo Wu's copious filmography now, if time allows, because I'm also having fun with a few dramas that are currently airing (Maid's Revenge - short short episodes, cute actress, impressive ML. Side Story of Fox Volant epic. some other ones in different genres bc eclectic tastes) . Looking forward to watch new dramas or movies in which Wu Lei will star, hopefully also in a more relaxed one, where kisses won't bruise the nose of partner as it happened once when ZLS rehearsed the one on the cheek for the empress birthday banquet, and encountered Wu Lei's chiseled cheekbone, presumably as hard as his remarkable abs 🤣

Ok the whole carriage chase scene was a stretch but that aside everything he said about seeing her as his wife she needed to hear. If you ask me here is where her heart yeilded and she forgave him.. she just never said it. She knew everything the reason why he did everything but when he didnt see her devotion to him her heart closed.. But knowing why someone hurt you and forgiving that hurt is two different things.

I don't understand why she called off the wedding, is it because she feels he betrayed her when they were on the horse and he pushed her forward while he jumped off the cliff and didn't take her with him? Even HBY knows he hurt her with her biggest fear that is being abandoned, yes he abandoned her on that cliff to save her but as she said, did he ever understand her? Why her feelings and sacrifices are less important than his? He made her love him to the point she doesn't find a turn back, she was willing to die with him at that moment because he made her love him to that point but still he invalidates her own decisions. Her feelings aren't less important than his and she is in the total right of not forgive him at least when he didn't even tried to seek for her forgiveness and just desapeared to the norewest.

I don't recall the knife in the last episodes : Shaoshang was out of the palace, where she'd spent five years in semi seclusion with the dying empress, not much to keep up her strength from when she was a more active and independent half grown child. Plus she'd handed back the seal to Zisheng and made a point not to care about him and presumably, his gifts. As for the falling off cliffs and dangling by the fingers, that's just suspension of disbelief fairytale drama of course : part of the "necessary ingredients" that come up in c-drama, reminding of wuxia, especially when it's ancient costume drama. I actually expected more like that in this drama, but we did not get the dreamy flying over rooftops or soaring over abysses, like in A Dream of Splendor (or WRTW which was avowedly wuxia). LBY/Zisheng/Shiyilang/Huo Wushang was an imaginary hero, not a documentary historical figure or a psychological portrait of behavior and reality in long gone Eastern Han dynasty. So I took it as a reminder that this was entertainment, just like the James Bond movies are. But I did have a peek at the history of those remote times, as a refresher, so was satisfied about that arousing my curiosity.

you know, as many times as I've seen the series, listening to his great declaration again just now made me very annoyed at him. So he considered her his wife the moment they shared the ritual bite, huh? Well, he still went and threw it all away then? And how about her, wasn't it the same for her? So he will throw himself into a cliff to save NOBODY, but if she's willing to drop into a cliff herself so at least one of them can survive, that's an unthinkable pain for him? WTF. And the first thing he does as soon as the crisis is averted is revert to calling her "Miss Cheng"?
