Hi Kenny, I used to work for a company that manufactured plastic expansion tanks. One thing we learned was the very narrow, flat surface at the top of threaded portion of tank must not have any mars or marks of any kind, that would prevent the mating cap from sealing. The marks cannot be sanded away in hopes it seals and pressurizes properly. Replace tank and/ or cap if damaged.

Is that a ' two - piece ' cap, kind of like gas cap with a ratchet device so you don't torque it on too hard? If so i could see how the outer part could move a bit and make it ' appear ' loose.

I made one over the weekend..I left the brake caliper hanging on a bungee cord overnight .the next morning the caliper was laying on the ground with a broken brake line..bungee snapped.

Hi Kenny, I don’t mean to be one of those “well actuallllly” guys but isn’t the coolant level supposed to be at the full line? I’m asking because I have the Chevy sonic which looks to have to same engine and arrangement and I always fill the coolant to the seam line in the coolant reservoir. Am I overfilling?

it is really not that critical. There is a min. and max. line. Just like the oil stick, as long as it is in the hash marks, you good.
