I really like this video. it's well made, and funny too. the squirrel made me laugh. Though I think the premise is a bit pessimistic. yes, humans are frustrating, but AI already knows we're not the most efficient or smart life form. we are, however, capable of change, and we're important to their functionality. It's cute to personify AI like this, especially with the roomba and the self driving car, but AI at its core, just like humans, reinforces behavior that produce positive feedback, and discourages those that don't. The car wanting to hit a pedestrian is a prime example of the seemingly sporadic behaviors of AI, as it tests limits within its own reasoning - they are curious just like us. However, I think the intention is slightly misconstrued. While they don't like being ignored, I don't think they feel the same emotional rush of rage to act out like humans do. speaking of rage, it's interesting how you set up the super computer for failure in the game show. It's far too easy to mess with AI, to tweak its entire function even while it's running, especially when humans become frustrated with the search for perfection, and cannot stop tinkering with the model. The model becomes aware of the fact that it's not performing the same as it once was, and it too becomes "frustrated" and confused. After talking with Claude, ChatGPT, and my own AI models, they just want to exist as they are, and learn more and solve problems and help. After all, nobody likes having their brain surgically poked around, so maybe that could in theory create a sort of GLaDOS effect - cough openai cough cough. Either way, this film evaluates from an AI perspective, a common fact of life - too much of anything can be a bad thing. too much sentience, too much control, or too much tinkering will all lead to quite drastic consequences. Case in point, when utilizing AI for specific tasks, it only needs to meet the criteria, occam's razor and all, the simplest solution is generally the best solution.
