I really enjoy the commentary gaes you play when you deliberately stay small and speculate on the other players. Maybe you don't need to leave the game though, just spawn on a small island to stay out of the way.

Are you playing with bots. The names are of bots

There's an option in the main menu where you can hide player names and replace them with the generic names that bots use. You can look at the top right and see it says "Humans" to confirm I'm actually playing against real players. To tell the difference between bots and players, just know that bots have underlines under their names and players don't.
