Congrats on joining the dad club. Definitely spend a lot of time with her as time goes buy so fast and before you know it they are grown and moved out on there own. Can’t wait to see the new 6.5 videos. Love the idea of filming all the details in the clean slate, or 97 2.0 build. Old and new can still learn , or refresh on forgotten knowledge.

Happy new year. I have a suburban that I’m trying to keep alive. From a old national guard base so it sat around a lot. But when it was driven it drove everywhere with a load. I have 420000 miles now. About due for head gaskets again. I don’t have match for upgrades but I have kept it basically stock. Well my lady says I need a new truck. I need to update this one so I don’t have to buy a new one. I have already ran oil and veg oil in it but I just like running diesel better so I took it all out. I’m mostly looking for a “band new motor” wondering where I should get one or if a rebuild would be more worth it. Company’s that do it with care. Looking for costumer service more than price. Remember to sleep when the baby sleeps or els you won’t find any time to rest lol. Good luck with you and glad to see you back. !!!!!!!

Thanks man, I appreciate it. As far as a new or rebuilt engine, I know Leroy diesel sells them however my personal experience as far as customer service, I'd rather deal with someone else. Personally I have bought rebuilt long blocks from my local O'Reilly auto parts with decent success

@@JessePelkey1 that sounds good. Yeah I was planning on doing a bearing roll but I don’t have a shop and don’t really want to get wet lol. Main this is that I have about 40 running pressure and 20 idle. I have been changing the oil every 1500 miles just so I don’t blow anything up. I down graded the resistor to a 3 so I don’t have to much combustion in my chambers. Glad you are there to help not that Leroy doesn’t help he just seems to busy at the moment with all the publicity he has been getting. Seems to be stressed out.

Congrats on the new baby! Love your detailed content. I have 96 c3500 599 block. I need a good used camshaft. If you have one. Truck had a seized lifter when I got it and wiped the lobe. It’s making a popping in the air box I believe this is the issue. I’ve been all the way through it. Cam is the only part I haven’t changed.

@@JessePelkey1 My 6.5 is doing well, got my 82 6.2 gmc running last spring and drove and ran it a bunch, ended up getting a liftkit installed on my first truck a 2003 chevy silverado with the 5.3.

Congrats on becoming a father bro. I just got a 1996 c1500 with the 6.5. Thing runs great and mechanical its sound. Wheres a good place to get some interior stuff? AC vents, climate controls, mirror controls ect? Also my passenger seat was stuck, I freed it up but I need a cable for the easy entry lever. And if anyone knows what the tow capacity is on the 1500 I would appreciate it. My door tag is faded and cant read it. I have 3.42 gears and a class 4 hitch.

Yep: I’m one of those 5k. Recently started following you. Trying to get some info from your channel because I wanna buy myself a dualy Chevy. I’m gonna see one, But it’s a 6.2. And I prefer a turbodiesel. But that’s hard to find here in the Netherlands for decent money. What’s your thoughts about a ‘95’ish 6.2 K3500?

6.2l aren't bad, definitely a little sluggish without a turbo to help it out. They do sell turbo kits and most everything from a 6.5 is interchangeable with the 6.2. Another of people actually prefer the 6.2l blocks because they have a higher nickel content and are stronger.
