I have a friend that says that. He used to be legend and now he's guardian (no joke). He spams techies mid, he steals all farms from everybody, he never put mines on high ground. Dota end game is more about map awareness and team coordination than anything, its like ur playing a different game at that point. No wonder he keeps losing late, guy steals farm, gets ahead and proceeds to probably die from the most random of instance since he's so ahead that he doesn't expect 5 guys running at him mac 10 speed.

Similar case here, its friends friend though. Hangs around crusader nowdays. Has been in low priority for most of his dota career, auto muted often, shouts racist stuff to his team or enemies constantly, sells/breaks his items and all sort of fun. This guy has been permanently banned from overwatch (game) at least 3 times so far. Couple of friends still wonder, why i dont play with him anymore. I know one of them just wants him to play in his team, so he can laugh at him raging. Most of the time, when i have been watching his matches, its either enemy denying creeps in lane or him getting killed 1-2 times in lane, is enough for him to get tilted. I know this isnt 1:1 same but yeah.

So Ethan actually explained in his email that he bought Shivas because Earthshaker went for Daedelus instead so he decided it was his job to buy the item. Never mind that Mjollnir would have been a much more effective item for him to counter PL with, he HAD to buy it cause his terrible teammate didn't. If you can't get out of Herald it's because you deserve to be in Herald. Not every game will be winnable, but if you can't reliably carry games in that bracket, from any position, then you are sorely lacking in multiple areas.

@@redenalcantara5722 I mean in fairness, Shivas is still a good anti-PL item for the movespeed slow on active and attack speed slow passive. Nothing amazing, but useful, and the damage amp would have gotten Earthshaker some echo kills had he actually bought it. He is at least right that it would have been a more helpful item that game than daed on the shaker, especially given how shaker was playing. Going the shivas on clinkz is still about the most herald thing you can do though.

(and some 1-2 core item for your hero) Look, sure Clink think he need a healt reduction, but he choosing shiva than skadi is where you know its not right... Generally, you pick shiva over skadi, its because 2 thing 1. you need armor 2. you need attack speed reduce Sure, the attack speed reduce is really good againts PL, but clinkz doesnt need armor, since he already have a lot already, as being an Agility hero

Have more active items better micro. A bad player needs less active spells and items because the more they have the more likely they are to forget to use them. Yet bad players who want to git gud try to build like pros or pick like pros. It's always been this way.

Remind me clinkz I had the other day, didn't buy satanic bkb so he just got venge swapped and slowly run away instead of damage and then was crying from DRAFT because I picked pugna offlane instead of tank because I did not want to lane a tank with a pudge. And we stomped the game with 33k lead at 36 minutes but couldn't end and we lost. He was guardian and arguing with me post-game lobby when he ended with 100k damage less than the enemy carry

Ethan your problem is items choice. Instead of shivas you could buy some manta or bkb to dispel bloodthorn and ethereal blade. Also instead of desolator you could buy early Mjolnir to counter pl illusions then buy save item like Pike or manta and choose beter position in fights not face to face with enemy. Jenkins could say that but...AH and i forgot about dusts...dusts should be everytime in your inventor..In this game you could kill PL placing sentry before fights or using dusts in them

Dude I wish I could give you my pre 7.00 replays. There was one game where my team literally would just cast their spells at the ground. I took screenshots to show my friends play by play my WD missing every spell My core walking straight into their team and not reacting through to death. And I went something like 38-4-30 on abaddon and carried the game. I had to stop playing dota for 3 weeks after that game. Its still my highest score game on abaddon in my stats. I had a 78% win ratio on carry offlane abaddon all the way to 4.8k when I started ranked.

I used to be a herald who complained about "being better than my teammates but stuck in a trench". A friend who is way better than me pointed out some faults in my gameplay one of which was 'It doesn't matter if you are "doing some of the right things" if you don't play with your team. It's true, I'm not good enough to solo 1v9. So I listened to him and started playing my bracket. Get more of the farm than supports usually do because the cores are shit at farming which leaves more gold and exp on the table, ward a bit more defensively because there will be no invading enemy jungle even if there's vision, focus on fast rotations and reactions because no one cares about objectives, pick impactful healing heroes like Enchantress, Warlock, and Witch Doctor because no one buys regen and the cores are way too happy to just TP home just to heal etc. I'm crusader now. Not necessarily because I'm suddenly better but probably because very often it feels like I'm the only one with a plan for the game

I wonder if most people think this... I do, and I've been proving it by ranking up steadily. I placed into crusader (lol) a long time ago and just hit divine last week; it took forever to get from crusader to legend, but I got from legend to divine in like 2 months. I sometimes check on people in my legend games from 2 months ago and I would say in each game there is like 1 or 2 other people who are like mid ancient, but most are still the same rank they were at that time. I think the real problem is the MMR system; it's so grindy compared to an ELO based system. It takes normal people literally thousands of games for people to fight to the rank they should be... which negatively impacts the experience for everyone else along the way. Though I saw that Mason calibrated into 8k so it might be different for literal brand new accounts, but if it is a brand new player they probably won't actually be good. I was a Dota allstars player and HoN player (RIP) first so when I started playing Dota 2 it was like 7 years after I had first tried Dota 2 so I probably had like a stagnated, low hidden mmr.
