I watched a really cool video on why the watcher is so good and “not balanced”, it’s because the original 3 characters went through years of player testing and constant updates from the developers and the watcher got less of that before they moved on to working on slay the spire 2. I'm not great at StS but I find Battle Hymn goes great for a divinity build as you can hold the Smites in hand so that you are guaranteed to have some great 36 damage attacks when you enter divinity

Judgement's "damage" isn't affected by stances since it "sets hp to zero" if their current hp is below X amount, which is always 30 (or 40 upgraded) regardless of wrath, divinity, vulnerable etc. Does nothing if the enemy's hp is higher, so judgement then conclude wouldn't kill, and conclude forcibly ends your turn so conclude then judgement isn't an option

It puts a 2-cost beta in your draw pile, which puts a 3-cost omega in your draw pile. Omega deals a bunch of damage to every enemy after every turn. It's great if you have a lot of draw & energy or for longer fights. It can be a little too slow for standard enemy fights

As a watcher main it pains me whenever he picks judgement and calls it a damage card. Watcher does absurd damage if you think about it a single bowling bash in wrath against 2 enemies does the same dmg and is a common card(potentially does more).30 damage is not alot for watcher and its exceptionally bad because of the condition. Judgement is a huge detriment in almost all elite fights and bosses as its basically a dead draw every time. By far one of the worst watcher rares hand's down because its very situational and useless on bosses. Not trying to be a smart ass btw just some constructive criticism 😅 As for mantra decks it usually starts out awkward because your first mantra card is always kinda eh as you need multiple. That said if you have dex scaling or decent draw prostrate is an insane card. Ideally you wanna start building into mantra when that condition happens and a prostrate drops or if you get offered a worship and have means of playing it back to back. Devotion is a noob trap for mantra, first you need to draw it then play it while it does nothing on that turn and then you wait multiple turns for the payoff, it is insanely slow and probably the 2nd worst watcher rare. Your best friends in mantra decks are retain damage cards as you wont have to rely on the rng of drawing them on the right turn or even better runic pyramid. (Fun sidenote if you get offered ritual dagger you can actually oneshot bosses easily with mantra especially so always take it if possible. in general ritual dagger is insane with watcher builds)

One of the things that helps with trying to get mantra to work is trying to make sure you have something that evenly adds to 10. Pray upgraded is 4, so 2 Pray+ with an upgraded Prostrate (2 mantra) is guaranteed divinity. If you have two prostrate+(3m), and a pray+(4m), divinity is also guaranteed. Meditate is also really helpful since you can bring back a pray+, so with a meditate you only need a pray+ and a prostrate. Other sources of mantra affect this as well and I find it's best to find a combo that works for you and your playstyle
