@@Dukestergames Maybe to add onto the snails, If you are to much of a monster (kill too many snails) you get "Curse of the Snails" as an effect, the next time to kill a snail with the effect enabled, BAM! SUPER SNAIL BOSS APPEARS and den secret boss fight. Drops from boss: snail shell chestplate, pretty much Chainmail - diamond armor, that when you press a button (idk crouch maybe) you hide in the shell for a bit, it basically acts as a sheild that surrond the player for a bit, at the cost of ALOT of speed.

I love seeing new mods being developed! I really want to do something like this, but I am already working on a magic mod for Minecraft... Btw, I love the mod so far, and I think you should add more use for cacti. They are very underused. Idk what u would do with the cacti, but whatev... Great video!

personally i feel like changing the woods texture defeats the entire point as you just want to make the wood fireproof not an entire different shade, my suggestion would be to allow the wood blocks to remain the same colour after wood stain is applied similar the honey combs and copper

I've been thinking about this one idea about making a mod that takes the mechanics of games like Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe, Rise of Industries, and Industry Giant 2 and turing Minecraft into a transportation cargo factory game mod...so like Create and Mknecolonies added to together, I think it would be pretty cool, although I do not have any skills to do any of that.

Oooh that would be a really fun idea! I’m with you that I don’t know how to do that either lol. But if you are really inspired to do something like that, go for it! I have played a couple of mod packs that have Minecolonies with mods like Create or Immersive Engineering, but I think one that truly blends the two into that would be excellent! i have some suggestions for your mod 1: i think the recipe is a bit expensive, honey is hard recource to get a lot of so you could chamge the recipe to require more wheat and give more woodstain 2: i suggest adding analternative way of staining wood with a paint brush to diractly apply stain on already placed blocks (the paint brush cood also be used to color blocks) 3: im not shure if you have already done that but the stained wood should have the wood tag for crafting compatibilaty 4: stained logs.

Suggestions are always appreciated! :D I will say your ideas are amazing. I think using a paint brush on blocks similar to how an axe strips logs is a perfect concept! - And on that topic, stained logs are a 10/10 necessity that I'll be adding. Making sure stained planks can be used in other wood crafting recipes is good too. As far as honey goes, I think this will give another driver as a reason to make a bee farm in your world (I hope lol), which hopefully makes honey an easier resource to obtain

Honey is a very easy resource to get. You can auto farm it too.

Can you make a video about versioning in mods, and for example, why some mods can't be ported so easily from X version of minecraft to Y? It would be interesting Great idea and mod tho :)

That's something I'll need to look into more thoroughly before I could make a video on it. I understand it at it's basic level, but I don't want to accidentally tell people something incorrect lol. Let's aim to do this in the future though when I'm a bit smarter :D

i can answer this one! with every update, mojang not only adds things to the game, but also changes stuff. they don't talk about it as much because it's not as exciting as the additions, but it happens almost every update. some changes are bigger than others. for example, 1.12 -> 1.13 changed almost EVERYTHING about how items are catalogued. that's why a lot of modders don't want to update their mods from 1.12 (and, actually, why we have Fabric--because Forge was taking too long to update!). Another example is worldgen mods. i do a lot of worldgen and the most recent major change was 1.17 -> 1.18. the reason mods take longer or shorter to update is because we have to rewrite parts of our code to fit the new version. if mojang changes how items are catalogued, then we have to change how our modded items are catalogued too. if mojang changes how the worldgen system works, we have to update all our trees, biomes, structures, and dimensions. and sometimes mojang just makes changes how their code is organized. if we use any of that code in our mods, then we have to change how our mod accesses the code. depending on the update, this can be a big deal.

While the stained wood designs look nice, I don't think they should be a different colour as it means your builds have to change colour if you want to fireproof it

Oooh this is an interesting take. No one has said this before, but it's true! I get where you're coming from, but wood stain in real life does affect the color of the wood so that was my mindset going into this mod. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching :D

I totally agree with this comment but honestly the idea of wood stain darkening the wood and the possibilities in buildings with dark options is a good feature tbh

I know the nether mushrooms don't count as wood but they have a wood like texture

This is a good point! The one reason I excluded nether shrooms from this was because they are already not flammable, therefore, applying stain wouldn't change their functionality at all. However, I could see how including stained variants of the nether mushrooms could work visually. Perhaps you're on to something! Thanks :D

ive been using mcreator to make mods for about 2 years now, and even though the stereotype is badly made mods because of the low barrier of entry, ive seen some amazing things done with it, an example is the create addon confectionary

There are resource pack and function makers that you can use to make pretty much anything you want. There's a lot more you can do with vanilla commands strung together with resource packs than you might think

I took the modpack "Fabulously Optimized" as a base and just added supplementaries and my mod, Additional Usefulness, on top of it. Fabulously Optimized is a fabric modpack found on Curseforge which includes fps mods like Sodium, Lithium, etc. but also has essentials like JEI. I recommend it!

Well in this case, I had to use MCreator since I do not have any coding experience. Since you are learning Java, you have much more potential to create expansive and complex mods! If you’re looking for where to start, I’ll say that I came across my ideas purely based on what I felt like Minecraft was lacking and where other mods didn’t fully capture everything I had hoped for. In your case, you might head down a similar path, but there’s also options of making mods on including aspects from other games or passions you have in life. I imagine once you get the ball rolling, it will come a lot easier! Thanks for the comment :D
