October 27, 2017 I met you on tour in Portland. You were about five months on testosterone. I was five days away from picking out my name. I remember meeting you as this kid with long hair and no chosen name. I'm nonbinary but I was closeted and not passing. That was over two years ago. Yesterday, I had my first testosterone injection. Tonight, I'm rewatching this for the first time in a year and crying. Little twelve-year-old me would have never, ever thought that I'd be where I am today - almost a year since my legal name and sex change, one day on testosterone, and planning for top surgery. The last time I watched this video, I was scared and suicidal. I'm now 280 days clean. Thank you, Miles. You're a lifesaver.

You have inspired me and gave me confidence when I had none. When I told you that, you gave me a huge hug and said "you're so fine." And those are words that have really stuck with me. And when I'm having a hard day, and when I get super dysphoric, or I get so sick and tired of being closeted and I just wanna give up after after a day of being birthnamed and misgendered, I remember what you told me, and what you continue to tell everybody. It may seem hopeless now, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we just have to wait it out. Because we are, you're right. We are so fine. So thank you, Miles for being our honorary big brother through everything and reminding us of these things. You are so incredible, and I thank you for being you, so much.
