Try using a “flatter” and wider cup. This one is too high and narrow.

Yup 100%! Also helps using less milk and it looked like the milk was too liquidy, needs to be more frothy

I've never done this before but I'm pretty sure youre breaking the surface tension by pouring high. Try pouring low. I've done this once or twice, I can get the foam to lay down, but not artsy.
