You know the fact that she acts much older than she is broke my heart. I want to assume that the reason why she doesn't like idol singers is because she has no time to even know about them. She even said "The older I get, the fewer things I want", that sort of mentality is something beyond her age. This father is making up bad excuses and I hate it. She should enjoy time with her friends. The stress and pressure is stupendously high for this girl.

The dad is seriously a piece of work. To not know your child's birthday is the root of the problem. My dad was the youngest of all his siblings but is a seriously hard worker and has never burdened me, or forgotten my birthday. Sure, twins are stressful. It's normal to have siblings help, but it is the PARENT'S job primarily. The dad seems like he doesn't even care much, which is really depressing. To be honest, I don't believe he will change.

my dad never remembers my birthday but he spoils me (he used to always pick me up after school even when I could've just taken a 15 minute bus home, and I was in high school then) so I think remembering a kid's birthday doesn't really say anything about a parent. But burdening a kid like that is seriously not okay.

LoL forgetting/ not knowing a so called important date (birthdays, anniversary etc) IS NOT the root of the problem. Because relationships aren't built from small things like that. There are other more important things like providing needs and necessities, understanding one another and caring for each other: all those things which many people easily took for granted. As long as one's fulfilling their duty as family, then it's already enough. Remember that not everyone has the luxury to wish let alone celebrate anniversaries and stuff. There are many people who just have enough to live and still grateful for whatever they have regardless whether they even know when they were born or not.

It's just protesting, letting the parents know I was suffering and couldn't take it anymore. I'd tell a close relative, friend, or teacher. Usually young kids don't even think about these options and just suffer in silence because as children, it's their best chance of survival. They're also told not to expose family secrets lest it taints the family name. Given that, the girl clearly must be on the verge of breaking to opt to write to the TV show for help.

As the older sister, I would want that but I can’t just leave my siblings behind. Through it all, they will see you as an example and understand. Just like how the boy did when he knows that the parents were still not mature enough to understand what to do in their position which he stood in to support his sister. I know what you meant and I agree but more realistically, unless they can find the heart to forgive you for leaving for a bit or making the decision to go, then you must try not to. It already became and natural responsibility but things like that also do become the only way to show them something, but they probably won’t get it because they seem a bit too weak as parents to resolve this on their own. But I’m thankful this has happened so at least one thing might change. I hope they all stay strong and I know they will.

"As I age, I want less" Good girl. Although the family has problems (as any human does), she has a good mind. Glad her family instilled that in her. Seems the father and daughter have similar emotional strengths and traits, although that isn't being addressed here. ~ "I keep my emotions hidden and deal with it alone" ~ "sir, you don't show emotion that well"
@dancingdohl
@dancingdohl 8 жыл бұрын
Rather than her parents taking credit for instilling those traits in her, it could very much be that she developed them on her own out of necessity. Some people are just wired differently from birth. Like kids with abusive or drug addicted parent growing up to be wonderful parents and never touching drugs has nothing to do with what their parents taught them. Some people will follow in their footsteps and others will rise above. Sorry for the rant, she just reminds me of how I grew up, though my situation was a little different.

@@aliyyarosli7232 yea i can relate like my family was financially struggling when i was in middle school and high school so i never wanted anything because of that. N my parents even apologized to me once. They were like she doesn't ask for anything and its because we struggle with money. They felt sad. They told me to ask for money if i needed it but i never did. I only took if they gave me five dollars. But its different from the show here cuz my parents actually apologized (they didnt need to but its nice to hear) and actually care for me when it was needed as a parent should. I had the basic necessities. Once I graduated high school and got a job, then i started wanting to buy things because now i had money to spend. Of course i paid what bills needed to be paid and kept a budget too.

I know what will that girl be capable of later in her life. Shes gonna mature, endure more pain and become stronger but in the end, at 1 point she'll collapse if she continues to endure and keep it to herself. I dont wanna swear at the parents coz I dont know story from their side, but my advice is just dont let your poor small child be burdened by something they shouldnt. Shes a smart girl and even can think wisely. By stating that she does not need any more stuff rewarded to her as she grew up means shes matured enough to think what's wise and what's right and also to have depression. Dont misunderstand stress and depression. That girl has already developed depression symptoms, but fortunately she let it out in this program. Im so sorry to the parents, but I really need to say this to them ; dont be so ignorant ( I think this is the meanest advice I can say by not swearing)

But maybe also the parents have a lot on their plate to achieve and gain to raise the family well. Financially speaking. Hard-working parents are always like that, and children will only understand , appreciate and feel guilty once they are in their late 20s.
@vaniesaaboy4420
@vaniesaaboy4420 7 жыл бұрын
If they know they are not financially stable, why add another child?... Also, that cycle of mental development is actually not good. Parents think that its a sacrifice, Its not, its their responsibility. Yes the kid can support and help but not take over. Parents like this manipulate the emotional dependency of kids. The kids most often grew up like the parents due to the lack of emotional fullfillment.
@angelsis2222
@angelsis2222 4 жыл бұрын
i mean the fact she doesnt want anything... thats herself that developed that BECAUSE her parents have taught her from young that anything she wants she wont get. She prob got shocked from her ballet ending and her having to take care of the twins right after that she just figured, "well looks like this is my life now, i cant have anything i want". I know thats why she felt that way because when i was in middle and high school my parents struggled with money n i told them i didnt want anything because of it. Once i entered college n got a job, i started wanting things because i knew i had money to buy it

Most koreans are usually very careful not wanting to be look down on by others. Or letting others know their hidden issues within the family. If this is real I really feel sorry for the young girl having the responsibility of raising her siblings. I am the only girl out of a family of five brothers, I was not the youngest. But my parents made me take care of all my brothers. Growing up I hated this, I never had time to just be a child and play with friends. So my heart goes out to this beautiful young child.

Same thing with my parents. I grew up with 0 affection; my older brother was my mom's favorite and my little brother, my dads making me an outcast. They never hugged me or said they loved me or even acknowledged my presence really. I only started to feel affection after I began dating my boyfriend (now husband). It's sad since I was able to feel more loved and accepted when I met my husbands family. I only starting saying "I love you" to my parents after saying it to my in-laws. Even now though it still feels awkward saying it to them. It has affected me so much to where I feel like I'm now too affectionate with my daughter 😂 I tell her I love her multiple times a days and squeeze (hug) her a lot too.

I cry when i watch this because i can totally relate to this especially when the parents said 'i love you' to their daughter and the daughter felt awkward when the parents said it. Tears just fall down when i saw that because it exactly how i felt . And its good she telling them because she still young while i'm already 16 and i cant open up to my parents . I dont tell whats happen at school or my problems or my insecurity , i tell nothing . She did a brave thing and good job. I hope she can be more closer to her family .

soobin is probably going to grow up not wanting kids herself if her parents continue to treat her like a baby sitter. This will also make the relationship between her twin siblings awkward. All her memories of her siblings will be raising them and not actually just being their older sister.

What an asshole of a father. I know he has responsibilities as the main income earner but he decided to have children. They need love. She obviously wants to help out her parents but they fail to show appreciation for her efforts. I want to hug her and her little brother.

That might come true tho, considering both the siblings are pretty much good looking, plus the fact that soobin herself likes ballet. It's not uncommon for idols to have ballet background, so it might just be possible. I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen. But I'm happy if she's happy. They deserve better things in life

What kind of father doesn't remember his child's birthday? Dad and I weren't close for a long time, but he always made sure to pick me up from school on my birthday and do something together, even when he had like thousand things to take care of. We got closer during the last two years and just then I realised how much a child needs their dad

I have been taking care of my older brother since i'm 14, right after my dad passed away because my mom need to go out a lot to find a job. he is my older brother but i'm the one who's taking care of him because he have physical and mental disabilities. i love my brother a lot and i'm willingly to take care of him 24/7.

why would you have more kids just to make your other kids look after them... thats not fair and its selfish of the parents. they even made her stop ballet because they didn't have the money to let her do it and raise the twins... you probably should not of had more kids if you cant afford to give the ones you already have nice things.

Raise kids is not oldest's duty. The duty is helping the parents for sure, surely the parents took Soobin's skill Soobin's help all this time for granted. And the mom didn't have much time to talk with her? Don't be kidding me when you have time to dyed your hair. Used that 30mnt to dyed your hair for talking like mom and daughter with Soobin. She carried so much things that she shouldn't carried. The dad? NO COMMENT, even the lil bro is way much better than him.. Ugh im frustrated!

Although you have four kids, you always have time to talk one by one with them. Just like my mom do. I was the oldest. My mom was a working mom. I take care my sisters all day to help my mom (my father is on duty in another island in Indonesia). But every night, I get to talk with her after my sisters sleep, just to know what I have done for the day, until I sleep on her lap. Old times.. Just a little attention, it means everything.

I understand her pain and responsibility, I am the 3rd child (2 older brothers before me)/first daughter and had to be the woman of the house since i was 10. I have little sympathy for the way her father expressed himself, it sounded like one excuse after the other. I hope that the experience opened up the parents' eyes and they feel humbled to understand the depth of the heaviness that their daughter feels. And they are right, she needs to experience feeling love so she can grow up healthy and function well as an adult. my heart goes out to you, Soobin Dongsang!

For a child this to have such a hard Problem with saying "I love you mom and dad" the problem is real big. By all the things she has to do In Germany they would have removed the children for "incapacy of raising a child" maybe even took all of them to let them be taken care of in foster homes or wait till the parents are financially better and all to take the children back.
