I would say that while Dillon Brooks is not an old player, he was pretty instrumental in the culture change last season. He brought a lot of toughness and accountability to the team and was not a distraction off the court despite what many people thought would happen.

You have know idea how close the Rockets were to being a disaster. We never flat out owned our 2024, 2025 and 2026 draft picks so there was that. We never got a 1st overall pick and losing out on Wembanyama was soul crushing. We traded all our veterans with the exception of Eric Gordon and he was losing his mind. Clyde Drexler was really critical because no one rebuilds a team without veterans. Paul Silas Jr. was terrible head coach. There were reports of infighting between Jabari Smith Jr. and Sengun. All the tanking was causing bad habits like the lack of organized plays, just iso ball and bad defense. Kevin Porter Jr. got kicked off the team right before the start of the season. Rafael Stone seemed really smug about his ability to go from tanking to winning. Rockets were really lucky.

Houston the second best young team in the league. Tons of talent still developing. Not sure they are mature enough to make a serious contender push before they have to trade guys away to stay of the luxury. They are going to have to lose great young drafted talent. Their future depends on keeping the right guys, which can be a toss up between potential and fit. I'm rooting for them though. They deserve some success after Harden did them dirty. They have recovered well since then though. And Ime looks like a better coach than I gave him credit for coming out of Boston. Wasn't sure if he was a good coach or just inherited a great team from Brad.

Yeah we could have also not drafted Jalen,jabari and Amen had those picks fell outside of top 4. Okc would’ve drafted with those picks. Thank God they fell within top 4.
