Led by Kyrie Irving’s season-high 48 points, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Houston Rockets, 147-136, in overtime. Luka Doncic added 37 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists for the Mavericks in the victory, while Dillon Brooks (season-high 29 points) and Fred VanVleet (24 points, 12 assists) combined for 53 points for the Rockets in the losing effort. The Mavericks win their third straight game as they improve to 48-30 on the season, while the Rockets fall to 38-40.
The Rockets are eliminated from playoff contention in the loss.

This is yet another incredible game happening after the officiating changes. And the nba needs to do everything in its power to model their product around this. This was players vs players only. I hate sounding petty, but I know human nature and how certain mean spirited or misguided fans carry themselves. I said it on another Dallas thread a couple of days ago that I wonder how many Mavericks fans HATED God Kyrie Andrew Irving JUST eighteen months ago and are now FORCED to root for his success .. you all allowed the media to drive the narrative in your mind about this great specimen of a man. In fairness, I never got into Luka because I don't usually fool with the Western conference and I did not like the comparisons to my all-time favorite Larry Joe Bird when he hasn't won anything and Bird one right away. I thought he may have jerk tendencies as well. But now that I am on board with Dallas because of my boy boy KAI I realize that Luka is a beast and appears to be fun to play with and against, cool spirit.. and because I watched every Larry Bird dribble like he is my first cousin I DEFINITELY see the similarities As it pertains to Kyrie Andrew, Dallas fans who now have got to know him some should really appreciate this goat; major philanthropy and never talks about it, stands up for his beliefs, and ALL of his teammates over the years love him. Think about it, I have NEVER heard any players say anything negative about him and I've been rocking with him since cleveland, hurt my heart he left my team of 30 years Boston SO glad that he seems happy after UNDERSTANDABLY getting the heck out of Dodge away from that weird Brooklyn owner..I'm sure the peace is also from maturity his spiritual walk and more importantly his wife and kid Let's go!
