Living in Australia, I get the fun of rehousing huntsmans a few times a year. They decide that my kitchen is a great place to be, and sometimes I let them stay for a few days til they find their own way back out... other times, like when they start chilling in areas that I need to get to (like right on the kitchen bench, or if they decide to wander into one of the bedrooms), I evict them. I have a nice tree in the backyard that I usually let them go on.

You come into my home and start bothering me and not paying your rent by getting the stray bugs that pop up around the house, then the vacuum is your new home. Permanently 😊 I also live an area in the States, though where we get a lot of Brown Recluses and I have small pets, so I can't really afford to mess around with them :/

@JamesMichael333 Yeah, I've heard Huntsman are good to keep around the house in Australia. I was kind of laughing at how scared you were; having had huntsmans migrate in and out of my house at will. Though, I have to say, they usually hang out up the top of the wall, nowhere near me. I don’t know how I’d go if they decided to get too close or climb over me. They don’t harass me; I don’t harass them. It’s a bit more freaky when they decide to run across your car windscreen at night… can’t help asking myself “is that inside the car or out?”

I'm Australian and have been dealing with huge warp speed huntsmans my entire life. I also personally keep spiders, scorpions, centipedes, mantis, stick insects as a hobby. I have a Sydney funnel web. I would rather deal with my deadly funnel web than huntsmans. I do have several huntsmans in my collection but they're nerve wracking to deal with. I had a couple of absolutely monster sized ones I raised from babies but had to re-home them as couldn't deal with their speed and the fact i could hear them galloping around their enclosures from across the room. Again, I still have huntsmans in my collection but I tend to stick to the slightly more docile badge, bark, and lichen huntsmans. I love all my critters including my huntsmans but I would never attempt to handle them. My tarantulas however are beautiful and I do handle them occasionally. Australian tarantulas are absolutely adorable and relatively docile at full size. Even my funnel webs are cute. Left alone to their own devices without them being stressed and messed with they are so funny and cute to watch as calmly go about their day.

As an Australian I can tell you I've never been bitten by a huntsman and they're more likely to run away from you than purposely at you, they're a ball of anxiety when it comes to confronting a human.
