I like how they switched up the costume. Usually, the Major-General is dressed in a naval uniform like an admiral. But here he's wearing something you might find in the British Army at the turn of the century :) Also, excellent work with the song!
@graysonbaker1744 Жыл бұрын
That's... the opposite of the joke. It's Gilbert and Sullivan... satire... they're supposed to make him look a little like an idiot, thus the navel uniform.
@Robert-hz9bj Жыл бұрын
@@graysonbaker1744 a) That would make no sense, since uniforms are issued by the branch of service, b) That doesn't even make sense from a joke/character perspective, since the song indicates he knows basically everything he needs to know about being a major-general except for leading men into actual battle (i.e. dressing properly would 100% be a thing he knew how to do)

I've seen it faster, but I've never seen it funnier. He puts so much expression into this performance. The score says to do it as fast as the actor can, but I think it *means* as fast as they can do it well. And this major general raises the bar. (And then he proves what his full speed is, just to quell any doubt that it was an artistic choice up to then. Perfect.)
