I Am Worried About Bethesda Games

This video was impromptu, and admittedly, not very good. I plan on doing completionist runs of each Bethesda game, and then uploading a review video with my complete thoughts.
I hope this video makes at least some sense, but I am absolutely open to any and all criticism.

things are unwell when your playerbase actively don't want the games updated. i have 850+ hours in Skyrim. i updated it, couldn't get my mods to play nice and never played the game again. Bethesda learned from fallout 4s dialogue with starfield. i genuinely don't think they understand what kind of games players want from them. We praised Skyrim and Fallout 3 even though they weren't really the best roleplaying games. fallout 4 into starfield isn't really that surprising.

its almost like the modders are at fault for not updating their mods. they had a cool 2-3 years before BGS updates stuff.

@@andymaritanu7420 that's what I hear everywhere 'it wasn't that bad' 'it had good shooting mechanics'', how is everyone so ok with a mediocre fallout game. How did this not disappoint anyone

@@SimonRobeyns I didn’t really have any problems with it, it was a fun game to mess around with. I’m not expecting an immersive rpg coming from a sandbox rpg company and neither should you, Bethesda have never made a fallout that holds up to 1-2 and I don’t really care because I found it entertaining for my money

Just a heads up... there are over 5000+ known planets in the Milky Way galaxy. I think that you might have been thinking of our solar system when you said the Milky Way galaxy. 🙄

This. Earth, Mars, etc. are in our solar system. It's all the stuff orbiting the Sun (Sol). The Sun is one of billions of stars in the our galaxy, the Milky Way.

I see. What I was trying to get at was that there are a thousand planets in game, when it would have been better to just use the Milky Way galaxy. Hope that clears things up.

No. The Act Man didn't "deal with" anything. He just figured out months later that he was clueless and out of touch when the SBI stuff hit (and totally blindsided him), and that there is much more to pronouns than pronouns.

You misunderstand. I do not give ground as a man of God to such a thing. But to be enraged about a thing so silly as an obvious virtue signal as a few pixels on a screen that you don’t even need to acknowledge is far too extreme a response. Keep the rage for such things to the realm of reality.

This isn't about pronouns (the original HeelvsBabyface video didn't happen when Az encountered the pronouns, but 45 minutes or so later after encountering several rather ridiculous plot points). You are engaged with college, and perhaps have not been as engaged with the issues of modern storytelling/entertainment. Az has seen many beloved franchises destroyed (not just character changes, but retcons that ruin the originals) by companies and the writers and directors they employed, which is the root of his anger. I don't particularly care for my own sake about modern movies being progressive fairy tales. I'm a stubborn guy, my personality is largely formed and set, and I can live in contentment with my old things, but there are children out there, and their developing minds deserve better than current day Disney et al.

@@thatsnotoneofmeatsmanyuses1970 I agree, I detest the many examples of virtue signaling in media that preaches “the message” and the Drinker puts it. I simply believe that Starfields example of having the choice to pick pronouns is rather innocuous in comparison to making Queen Anne Boleyn black or the same for Cleopatra. If there were whole quest lines based around LGBTQ related things, I would certainly criticize it.

Idk how anyone can hope the writing in a Bethesda game will be good, none of their titles since Morrowind have been even passable. With regards to patching F4, show got eyes on it, game was patched to capitalize on the buzz. More players active than anytime since launch. Smashing success. Doesn't matter if it doesn't work, or if you don't like it. It's a pretty number for Microsoft shareholders and that's who games are made for.

It first released 13 years ago. The distance in time between now and og Skyrim is the same as the gap between Skyrim and Zelda: Ocarina of Time

It's because Bethesda uses the release the alpha - maybe the beta and rely on Modders to finish the games. Cyberpunk, I have played through at least 8 times without a single mod. The mods I have added are clothing just to have more variety. I really don't feel the need to change the gameplay or "fix" anything in game. Because if there is a problem, CDPR does and will eventually fix it. But they're also not game breaking. The other mods are just people learning how to mod games and play with different things. Like retexturing the entire game. Most of the "fixes" for Cyberpunk are obsolete. The point is, I don't feel a need to add anything that actually changes the gameplay.

You have absolutely 0 effect on any of the Bethesda worlds apart from New Vegas. They would all carry on if you didn't exist

A next Gen Update would be nice if it brought DLSS, fixed the performance in Downtown Boston, heavily improved on the texture quality and loading times. But all we got is broken wide screen "support" and broken mods.

As a real comment; People should learn to replace "Not a good game" with "Not a great game". A lot of games are good, heralded as great when they aren't great. People argue that it is instead bad rather than merely good or good-enough. But Fallout 4 is worse than Fallout 3 in terms of RPG mechanics and followed New Vegas which was a lot better than Fallout 3. Fallout 4 is still a good game. It's just not great. A comparison that's opposite in this way; Vampire Survivors. It's a good game. It's probably something you can get sold on being "ok". Low expectations, get more than your money and times worth and you enjoy it. It's not "as good as" Fallout 4 but one cost $4 and the other cost $80. Bethesda really put a final nail in the coffin for me when Todd Howard was like, for Fallout 76 or whatever, said something to the effect of "We're aware that out games have been called buggy so we're going to test this game." Raised expectations. "And we're releasing in a month." Oh, so you're not going to actually test it. I didn't even consider buying that game because of that. If he had said "It could be released now, buggy, like you'd expect. But we're going to sift through this game, find the bugs, fix them, release it maybe within a year."

I can't wait for Wayward Realms to see what the REAL creator's of Bethesda and the Elder Scrolls can do with modern technology! I predict that Wayward Realms will be the game all of us are waiting for, because its going to be made bye the real creator's of Bethesda and the Elder Scrolls....

Bethesda is ded ppl should move on. No one cares about the pronouns thing, ppl get mad at it because it hints at the possibility that some consultant firm (SBI, GAYX,...) ruind the game in certain areas and hindered creativity and interesting content in being made.

I welcomed the F4 update. I have 3440x1440 res and i couldnt play the game because of that. Using Flawless for resolution crashed the game randomly and the menus werent 100% scaled. It was so annoying. Also get a few quests and some new itmes along with a fix for this issue is more then welcomed in my books. So yeah... Also i dont play with mods, never did.

i grew up with morrowind, oblivion, fallout 3 and new vegas and even Skyrim, I loved all those games but Fallout 4 was the nail in bethesda's coffin for me, just so godawful after fallout 4 which s*cked they never released a quality open world game again

Even Fallout 3 and Skyrim were boring as hell. New Vegas is an Obsidian game so it's actually good.

The update is really just for console and the PS5 version of the game runs pretty well but that's just my experience

Bethesda is going back to their dark ages again... Most of fans should look into their past because it's repeated again 🤦‍♂️. They're went downhill when they're releasing too many skyrims

Todd Howard is a nobody! Todd Howard is the lucky office apprentice that was their when the REAL Creator's of the Elder Scrolls created the foundation to what Skyrim the dumbed down streamlined yet Graphically Better and Cinematically Impressive. Daggerfall was the greatest Elder Scroll's in a time when their were no graphic's or voice acting to support what the REAL creator's of the Elder Scroll's were trying to do... All Todd Howard did was take the new technology of the time and made the next Elder Scroll's game more graphically appeasing while dumbing down each iteration of the game. Till now... Now Bigger Better Graphic's and Cinematics' really doesn't change the game all that much, because it simply doesn't have the same kind of difference as the Graphical changed in technology between Daggerfall and Skyrim... Which means Todd Howards only thing he was able to do no longer has that much of an effect all he did was take a great game and make it graphically better and cinematically better... Now that improvements to elder scolls require actual creativity, game mechanic improvements, game play improvements. Todd Howard was never capable of these things all he ever was, was the office apprentice who inherited the elder scrolls and the only thing he could do was graphics and streamlining... Now that graphic's don't make a huge difference any more and the elder scrolls have been stream lined into oblivion, Todd Howard has nothing he is incapable of taking the elder scrolls forward because he was only ever the office apprentice that served coffee to the real creative minds that created the Elder Scroll's he doesn't have their ability to make an entire game from scratch. He is USELESS....
