So much fun I had an impromptu jam with a couple in the airport on a layover in Dallas and it made my travel experience so much better… I played guitar and sang with them…. He played a cello and she played a viola and they both sang as well…. One of my best travel memories. I wish I could remember their names so I could shout them out Really wonderful and very talented people….

one of my favorite things about these videos, is they probably skip a lot of these songs thinking "ive played that one so many times before", but when a new musician asks to do a duet, they bring back out the classics, and play/enjoy them on another level. love these spontaneous videos!

Oh I thought he was just stomping on the floor. Check out Terry Miles, he does a lot of foot stomping on the floor as he plays public pianos in London, and indeed the rest of England. Also check out his buddy Dr K Boogie Woogie who plays in London too.
@LloociiАй бұрын
@@onthebeer77You can see him just stomping on the floor in parts and stomping floor and pedal in other parts. Stomping is ironically more often used with fiddle. Folk style violin. I've never tried it on the piano, but my foot often taps a beat when not using the pedal, so I don't think it would be too hard to incorporate. Definitely suits a rag time or boogie style, though.

I’ve been lucky enough to catch you on here- I particularly loved the one where you accompanied a “kid” band on the street. This caught my eye because I recently went through Charlotte and saw him playing. I knew immediately this guy wasn’t just a “piano bar” player. I ate lunch and listened closely. That young man has immense talent, just like you. He transported me back through many times as I listened. I’m not sure if this is just one of his “gigs”, but I hope to run into him again. Hopefully with you accompanying.👊🏼🎼 Great work and craftsmanship. You guys both have something that just can’t be taught.

I was in Vancouver once, taking the Skytrain downtown, walking down the stairs into the station there was a busker playing a violin, gorgeous music coming from this guy. Then he starts playing music from The Godfather. It is amazing the change in mood music can evoke. All of a sudden I am waiting for a hit to go down, ending some mobsters life. So cool.

I always wondered how does licensing work for something like this? I would think the performers would need a license for a public performance. And a another license (synchronization) would be needed for publishing the recording. The latter could certainly be attempted after recording and before publishing. But for a public performance that apparently wasn't planed ahead, that seems somewhere between difficult and impossible.
