Oooh, interesting idea. I tried to do the same and asked for a plan for a relaxing day in my city. It suggested to have breakfast, lunch and dinner in Restaurants of my choice in the city centre and in-between to go to a famous park and castle nearby. When I asked for vegan Restaurant options it recommended two Restaurants that don't exist and two that are very much meat-based (maybe they have a vegan option? But mind you we have several vegan and vegetarian places here.) When I asked for their addresses it even invented a street that doesn't exist. 😅 Also, it recommended to take a boat ride on a lake, where boats are actually forbidden. So I'm glad your options existed. 😂

What a fun video, especially since I’m going to London for the first time this week! I do want to mention though that I’ve used ChatGPT for planning travel days multiple times, and it can do a fantastic job if you provide a less brief prompt. Of course, Jess naturally considers walkability and discovering nice spots along the way, but AI needs that mentioned.

Vox made a video about Barbie's dream house around the time the movie was released. In the video they compared different dream houses and explained how their designs reflect the different times they were released in. One thing they took up that didn't even cross my mind was that Barbie owned her own house as a single woman in the 1960s, she lives alone, is a student and has lots of books laying around. My view of Barbie's dream house before watching that video was that the dream house is a patriarchal tool to teach young girls to become housewives. In reality, it's 100% feminist, because Barbie owned her own house in a time when women weren't even allowed to own a credit card.

Would love to go browsing in all those fun stores :) As somebody else mentioned, the prompt for ChatGPT has to be much more detailed (I wish it could just understand implicit things better haha). Even thought the instructions were the same, Jess has a lot more information about you already: that you've been living in London for a while, like charity shopping, don't mind walking, your budget etc. For the given prompt, I actually think ChatGPT did better at combining relaxation and activity, although I'd also prefer the second one!

one of the least recognised sign of patriachy in the past and today is how little traditionally feminine art forms are VALUED in the art world. any type of fabric art does not usually hang in museums, despite the skill and craftsmanship and creativity it takes. traditionally WOMEN were the artists in society, designing clothes, creating curtains. embroidering artfully, but yet we only know male artists who all happen to be painters. it's so disappointing how little has been done to change this. the one exception are usually tapestries hanging in museums, where everything else is done by men.

To be fair I think there is a general misunderstanding of what ChatGPT is capable of. For one it is a language based AI. So it will be very sensitive to your words when creating the prompts and not your emotional circumstances. If you wanted it to predict those you need to tell it in your prompt. A friend though, or just in general human beings have feelings and experiences of their own and create their predictions on that emotional level you were looking for. So this video wasn’t surprising to me at all. Still enjoyed it though and I hope you too enjoyed your half work, half exploring London days :)

@catherine67142 ай бұрын
For a channel that normally champions sustainability (e.g. your secondhand styling videos), I am both surprised and disappointed to see this video. Using AI Chatbots is terrible for the environment and this trend of videos that 'compare' AI to real human choices is influencing more and more people to use them for frivalious reasons. While I understand this might be a fun concept for a video, I would gently encourage you to research the environmental impact behind using ChatGPT in the future. I really love your other videos and look forward to more sustainable content in the future!

I don't think it's so black and white. AI tools like ChatGPT definitely have a greater environmental impact than a standard search engine (assuming you have all the AI features turned off). However ChatGPT is actively working on reducing its carbon footprint and uses net neutral cloud hosting. These technologies are also being leveraged by companies that are helping to save the planet and lives, rapidly speeding up research. Yes a disclaimer about the environmental impact would have been nice, but it's such a new and rapidly changing area I think we should cut her (and other people) a bit of slack. We're all learning and there's so much to learn!

@blemmett2 ай бұрын
Google also uses AI and it's making their emissions worse. It's not really a comparison of AI vs Google, it's the fact that AI uses so much energy/resources and tech conglomerates start using AI as well which makes their already bad emissions problem even worse. This person is also correct that AI is unethical. It effectively steals content and rehashes what it's stolen to the end user. I don't think AI is inherently evil and maybe there's a way we can use it (the use of AI in medical applications to help doctors find tumors before they become more serious issues is great!) But that's not the majority of applications that AI is being used for, and the tacit endorsement of using AI for pithy stuff like this from a creator who has made content related to climate consciousness is incredibly disappointing. Hannah's job exists on the internet and it's not like the criticisms of AI are hard to find. She should absolutely have known better.

Don't really think this is a fair comparison. Your 'friend' and 'London expert' presumably knows more about you so can tailor the day to what she already knows you like. You should've used someone who has no idea of who you are and what your interests are. You also didn't give ChatGPT enough information that your London expert already has i.e. common sense. You need to tell ChatGPT certain things that humans just naturally know to think about. Maybe if this was done between ChatGPT and a random person who's only ever heard of London once before in their lives, then it would be fairer.
