1:20:23 Dish’s closing statement is so insightful. I started drawing recently and the amount of times I’ve torn pages out of my sketchbook is getting ridiculous! I keep “messing up” and giving up when my work doesn’t look like other people’s. But last night, I finally made something I liked! The proportions are wrong and he looks about 1000 years younger than he’s supposed to, but I drew one of my characters for once! It’s far from perfect by any means but I’m proud of myself for going through with it. I’m on the right track to improve and that’s what matters. I loved seeing Dish start her drawing journey so long ago and seeing where she’s come with all the struggles in between. Creation is never linear, never easy, always worth it. As for my hot Fontaine take: Furina is the best archon we’ve had. It could be that there’s so much mystery surrounding her and we don’t know all that much yet, but the way she talks, a glimpse into her secrets and emotions, and her design makes me genuinely excited to pull for her if she releases soon!

Honestly as a deep lore player I loved Sumeru and didn't realize people weren't as engaged with the Sumeru storyline due to the focus on deep lore stuff, that stuff is my jam so seeing Irminsul, the divine knowledge capsle, the Khaenrian stuff, that was so cool

When Furina or Neuvilette are on a scene, they steal the entire scene like fantastic actors in a play, i like them a lot, the VA's did such a fantastic job. also the music is so well composed and so much effort has been put into everything, Fontaine's underwater is so pretty and chill to explore i loved it, and for the first time i'm very curious about what's going on and who is telling the truth in the story

I freaking loved the desert exploration, the big tombs and canyons where right up my alley and I'm usually not the biggest exploration player
@EngelAguilar Жыл бұрын
I have a question if you don't mind, did you explore the desert while doing the world quest or it was on your own? because for me, I think the quests was amazing to help me explore and enjoy the desert, it was easy to follow and most of the rewards are in the same path but I think that if people explore outside of the quest it will get tricky in underground areas and above bc everything is full of sand without any "value" without context from the quest
@andrewmattar4178 Жыл бұрын
I liked the desert exploration too. However, the quest did help a lot! It was a very good quest as well. Win win!
@awuncat Жыл бұрын
@@EngelAguilar this is such a good point actually. my friend and i were talking about how we were so confused that ppl hated exploring the desert, quoting her she said 'it was super smooth, you entered an underground area and BAM you exited on the other end of the desert' and that's pm how I felt. (turns out, it was probably bc we both explored while doing the quests) and exploring with quests is so much more immersive to me, finding lore and listening to npcs' stories just feel more special that way.

i like the desert area too. The sense of a vast barren area gives a completely different mood and pace to the busy dense jungles of Sumeru. The difference is refreshing.

I loved the desert exploration experience, one of the few places I’ve actually 100% completely without any guides. I just felt completely enthralled with the idea of learning of all these secrets that lay above and below the sand, the dunes and architecture it was great! I also can of course understand how people wouldn’t have been as I guess interested in it though and it’s cool to see the differences between people when it comes to exploration in different areas!

it's truly a pity people avoid the Aranara quest, I remember doing a little bit everyday but at the end I was so immersed I had to finish it. throughout the whole thing there's also some really interesting stuff about the abyss sibling and the help they gave to the Aranara. and again doing the world quests in sumeru made exploration so much easier I do not get the desert complains because to me everything felt well connected and organic so much so It truly feels like home when I go to sumeru I know everything about the underground the surface desert is so rich in story when I'm there a certain theme plays I feel the height of a lost civilization. hell I'm still shocked at the end of the second desert world quest we completely kill everyone from the camp, npcs that were there everyday we visited, gone and we did that the game didn't reset them the traveler mass kill people and nobody is talking about it, drives me so mad.
@jonathan0225 Жыл бұрын
i agree on the lore enthusiast's POV. however, it's lucrative for Hoyo to assume that sane people will have time and attention span to willingly engage in this with just intrinsic value alone no fricking way considering most people are in it casually. Gated chest rewards (considering the quality) aren't gonna cut it truth be told.

1:20:38 I don't know if you still read these comments, Dish, but if you do, I just wanna tell you how much your advice helped. You inspired me to (hopefully) truly climb out of my depression and stay out of it even when things don't go well. Your advice helped me both mental health-wise because you metaphorically slapped my toxic productivity and told it that whatever I do, it doesn't have to be perfect and that there's beauty in its incompleteness. I knew that it doesn't have to be perfect, but about the incompleteness... You were the first one I heard it from and it did wonders. So I just want to thank you for it

One theme in Fontaine I see is regret; understanding you have unresolved conflicts/tribulations and trying to make up for it. We see it in Navia and Clorinde. Navia regrets not being there for her father, so she’s trying to clear his name. Clorinde regrets taking Navias’ fathers life, so she watches over Navia as she promised. I think we will see the theme of regret in the twins (Lyney and Lynette) and maybe even Furina.

So, I just wanna say, great job on this episode. I really enjoyed watching the exchanges between two of the content creators that’s helped; or at least had contributed in my improvement in builds and jus the overall experience of playing genshin impact. I really like how Fontaine has been like the breath of fresh air that everyone’s been waiting for (after Sumerian desert). The story so far, has been great, the rewards are consistent and the achievements have been plenty; i think Fontaine has given more achievements than any other region, in the period of time released and now. Anyway, I’m loving the direction Fontaine been taking with character, lore and and looking forward to more of the unreleased characters.

Lovely podcast! One thing I would say for me, the desert exploration quality was raised EXPONENTIALLY simply with the addition of the underground map. I legit went back and 90-100% the desert just because it was so much easier. Also agree, I love Sumeru, but the Archon quests other than the the main finale, Interlude, and Sabzeru Festival stuck with me didnt grip me and I mentally skip them. Genshin absolutely has evolved in their writing and it’s so awesome to see them take things darker and get more focused in their writing, rather than meander with lore/dialogue. Especially the world quests.

I know bias is a thing but hearing them talk about how 'long' Sumeru dialogues were and then Dish say she liked Ayato's quest a lot when its one of the longest and most boring 5 * quests overall was so funny jkgnfjk also, I do think Sumeru had high stakes as we were literally recuing an archon, but to be fair, it did take a bit longer to get into that part, same as with the samsara, while Fontaine hasnt shied away of showing fucked up stuff since almost the start which I love. Overall, both countries have been very solid and I hope it continues to be this way

If this is what genshin can offer (Sumeru's entire archon quest and Fontaine's Archon quest part 1), I can't wait for natlan and scheznaya's AQ! The story of the game is becoming more complex to the point where I don't know who the main antagonist is. Celestia the one that destroyed kaenriah, the kingdom where even the archons themselves don't want to be a part with, or the Abyss? For the mean time, the game is hyping for a sibling vs sibling finale curtain at the end, but what if it is not? What if it is us, the traveler and our sibling against The Second Who Came? The one that is theorized to be controlling Celestia in the shadows?

Loved and enjoyed all your content! This podcast style content is a pretty nice addition as well. As a fellow Filipino, thank you for representing us in this content creator sphere! As a day 1 player, 4.0 is a great shift in Genshin's content and the underwater gameplay is great. While the combat is not everyone's cup of tea, I do enjoy it. I do understand the gripes about not being able to utilize characters the way they do above water, I still find it very enjoyable and I hope we get some additional underwater combat mechanics in future patches. I'm still a bit biased towards Inazuma being my favorite region, Fontaine is a very close second (for now). Once again, thanks for all the content you've shared to us and look forward to even more in the future.

Really enjoyable listen. And thank you so so so much to Dish for calling out the Aranara. I actually found that the Aranara were the aspect of Sumeru that basically nearly killed my enjoyment of the region all on their own. Not because they were cute and mascot like, mind you, but because of how they were positioned as being these wise being that understood the land and people on a far deeper level than anyone else; almost an opposite to the scholars of the region. But the Aranara ended up not only taking forever to say anything at all because most of what they were saying was deliberate gibberish.. except it was never deep or complex or hard to understand. It was blatantly obvious what juvenile, child level philosophy they were spouting but it took them forever to say it.. and all of the characters were made into complete idiots because they just couldn't understand it. Every conversation with an Aranara was basically them saying "gaa gaa goo goo 1+1=2" and everyone going "what, I don't understand!" for 10 minutes until they finally got it. It was infuriating and made me hate pretty much every single time and Aranara appeared on screen
