Trying to run a new 10K PB, I asked two elite runners if they wouldn't mind running at their lightest jog, to pace me for an attempt at my fastest 10K. We attended the London Winter Run, a 10K around the capital city. GB Athlete Jonny Davies and 2021 British 3,000 Steeplechase Champion Mark Pearce did a superb job and it was an honour to run with them. This was a truly remarkable experience.

Thank you all for watching the journey to this 10K. Jonny and Mark were superb company and it was a brilliant experience. Many people have been asking about the shoes I was wearing, they are the HOKA Rocket X 2, and I found them to be brilliant. Here is a link to them if you are interested: tidd.ly/3ZTnTMA (also a great way to support and help towards the production of future JOG ON videos). Thank you and go for that run 🧡

I was just looking up yesterday what a "good" race time is for 5k, 10k, etc, and I can't remember if it was just for men, or men/women combined, but running under something like 38:08 puts you in the top 1% of runners who can accomplish that. So you're an elite now! Congratulations! 🎊

Coming from a similar situation, but I'm a year ahead of you. Started running 3 years ago, couldn't even run a 1K back then (no wonder, at 130+kg bodyweight). Lost about 40kg running and cycling and a bit of occasional gym work altogether. Started the weight loss project a bit earlier than running. Was down from 137 to 132ish before I even started running. I just did a 46:29 10K a few weeks ago. Broke my 5K PB on the same run as well, as my fastest 5K was 22:29. I started slow so I probably could've gotten an even better time if I had committed to it earlier, but I'm always afraid of going too fast too early and blowing up. I watch videos like this one for inspiration, but I read the comments section for motivation (because watching people run so much faster than you can, can sometimes be a bit demotivating as well) and I hope this comment provides motivation to others who are in the situation I was in 3 years ago. Or even 1,5 years ago, when I had already lost most of the weight, but was still struggling with running efficiently and sometimes feeling like I wasn't making any progress at all. It will come, when you keep working at it. Be consistent, don't overdo it and don't let illness or injuries demotivate you (but do let your body properly recover and heal before getting back to it).

What an excellent video, Harry @thisisjogon. I've been a runner for 51 years, mostly at competitive club level, with loads of 10Ks under my belt, and a lot of track racing. With that background, I have to say you've created a love letter to road racing, not to mention an uplifting story of your own journey and impressive accomplishment. Further context: I used to bang out 6:00 mile 10-mile training runs and 10Ks around the 35-36:00 mark, with a 5K PB of 16:00 and a 10K PB of 34:21. So I know very well what it takes to do what you did. You've achieved something impressive. Plus (with my copywriting hat on), you're a terrifically engaging story teller.

Crazy to find this video today. I´m battling and fighting to get back in shape and running again. In the last two years, my training has just been falling apart and I´m at a point where I no longer see myself as a runner anymore, something I have always been and seen myself as! So it´s inspiring to see your journey and come back here. I´m a 37:40 10K PB and 1:19:52 Half Maraton PB. Today I can't run faster than 5:15-5:30 min PKM I'm dreaming of how to find and rebuild myself as a runner. So thanks for this little push and inspiration.
