"Gaining weight" "being taller than me" "sweating a lot". Do these guys know the meaning of a red flag on a person? Honestly, these are the guys, to me, that are considered red flags. It's okay to have a preference in terms of appearance, but what they said was too much.

The term 'red flag' doesn't translate well into Korean. It was translated into "red light" which in Korea, means like a 'no,' so essentially "what traits would you avoid in women" is what the interviewer was pretty much asking. I think he should've explained what 'red flag' really means in context.

That’s a fairytale, this is reality, there’s no such thing as “true love” or the “right one.” Someone can be so good at acting and pretend to love you without you ever finding out, that’s one of the reasons why divorce and break up rates are really high and common. @M-de-Vale
@M-de-Vale 2 ай бұрын
I dont think mentioning physical appearance or cursing are necessarily negative. It just shows their maturity level and experience, some of these guys are quite you g. I remember as a university student, if someone asked what’s my type (or what’s totally not my type) I would only be talking about fashion style/ musical taste. Because I was young and never really had any deep relationships. And in my 20s because I was a professional athlete, yes I agree with not liking someone who is partying too much or eating unhealthily because it just didnt suit my lifestyle as an athlete. It’s just a quick street interview, most people wont want to be too vulnerable and give deep answers anyway. But you can see a few of them talking about personality, family values, communication. That’s when you know they have probably had mature and serious relationship already.

I’m just gonna go out there and say a girl getting weight and a girls height isn’t necessarily a red flag because a girl may not be able to help it if she gains weight and a girl cannot change her height so their commenting about things girls can’t change as being red flags a red flag is usually pertain to somebody’s actions and personalities not somebody’s appearance and definitely not something they can’t change guys who say girls are not attractive based on something they can’t change like height and sometimes weight is a red flag

@zelrius8714
@zelrius8714 3 ай бұрын
they probably meant their preference, maybe red flag here doesn't translate well to Korea. Either way, I do agree with the weight one heavily. In a lot of relationships, I've seen healthy relationships where the girl or even guy gain weight because they're happy together which is very normal. Some couples may work together to even lose weight, weight can be changed over time, and yes some can't control unless they go to the doctors. But that one guy kept talking about weight as if it was a bad thing and saying it's "difficult" to date a fat girl?? How is it difficult??? Unless he means a 300+ pound girl which is kinda rare in Korea... like what does he think is overweight? He's in korea, one of the skinniest countries or countries with low obesity rates so it's VERY strange he kept mentioning weight, it's as if he's projecting or something

Being short or overweight is definitely not a red flag and it’s probably a misinterpretation, on the other hand how is it a red flag if they are not attracted to overweight women? Since everyone has their own preferences, if they find overweight girls unattractive, and especially if they are fit themselves, it’s their right. Like personally as a WOMAN, I don’t find obese men attractive and I don’t want to date anyone who’s overweight, and it’s my right to want a fit partner because I am fit and I take care of my own appearance. So why can’t men feel the same way? Simply being a woman doesn’t give you the privilege to be attractive in the eyes of everyone, and whoever says that they find all women (or people in general) attractive is generally a hypocrite. And I think more people should be aware of that.

When they mentioned the weight part, I think they meant obese/or overweight and it could be a red flag bc it shows they don't have determination to get healthier/change. It also shows they may be lazy or have bad habits, leading to it being a red flag

It's really a shame that so many guys are so focused on someone's height or someone's weight. You can't really change your height, and you have no idea what someone may be going through as far as weight is concerned. Being on the thinner side is probably great for how clothes fit and for guys thinking you are cuter, HOWEVER, being so focused on so much SURFACE stuff can cause you to really miss out on some great people. It not always just a personal mismanagement of yourself that causes people to gain weight. We will all grow old, if we live long enough and age will show up at some point in many ways.
@anu83

A lot of these guys probably can't date Westerners at all. Bro I take a whole day in some cases to respond to my husbands messages or totally forget and I do not at all make any form of a big deal in my mind or to him if he doesn't reply for any generic length of time. There is usually some kind of reason as our lifestyles have a lot involved in it during and off work hours. A quick call when you aren't getting any response to something important usually works. A quick i'll call you later also works when it isn't urgent. I don't know... it just isn't a big deal. Maybe it is just me and my husband that are odd about the whole 'not responding to messages' bit. Not responding to 2 consecutive calls may rather be a bigger issue especially if we called when we knew the other person would not be occupied. In the first place, we tell each other what our day plan is or is looking like so you have that in mind as well. I guess that wouldn't fly with Korean guys lol. Red flag they said.

Personally I find texting each other about day-to-day or mundane details about our lives really a waste of time even if it is ten seconds. "oh work was good, I just did this task and that task" or "just had lunch!" I cannot do anything with that information. People used to go weeks without talking to each other if they lived in different areas but now everyone wants to be plugged in, connected, and have instant information...some people need to go touch grass, forreal. At first when I heard them say communication is important I thought, “ oh good! I feel that good communication and trust are the foundations of a good relationship.” Then I started to notice the way they’re speaking about communication is more in a possessive way. It’s as if they’re so insecure they NEED the constant attention and validation from their partner to where if you don’t respond fast enough they’ll leave. Now that’s wild
@mochijmss
@mochijmss Ай бұрын
OMG THISS!! i thought the exact same thing, like when they started talking about communication i was like "uh okay they're right" but the fact that i would BET that almost none of those who talked about "replying fast" and this type of things would actually communicate well about important matters - (just my opinion tho)

This might vary among Koreans. My boyfriend and I sometimes don’t contact each other all day, and we only have a short call or chat at the end of the day. Of course, when we meet, we enjoy our time together and go on fun dates! It’s likely that the people interviewed are in their 20s or early 20s.

@@apoetsbrain6794 Korean People in their early 20s and mid 20s tend to be a bit more attached or focused on frequent contact. I think it's just part of their popular culture. They make money from good skin care products internationally also good looking actors and performers bring a lot of revenue to their country. Being attractive is a thing in every country their country south Korea is not that big and the content we get just happens to show mainly attractive people it doesn't mean everyone is focused on that.

And yes!!! Women do use the bathroom at 4am too!! I was just too into thinking about my past relationships 🫠 Anyways, great video to find out how others think and thank you for stopping us for an interview!

The guy who talked about looking out for how a potential partner treats their parents and siblings made a whole lot of sense. Because eventually you're going to make a family with them, and both you and them will see each other's vulnerability much more often. Whatever reservations they might have felt regarding you or your relationship will melt away as time goes by, so you'll get to really see more of their truer selves that even they don't realise exist at times. For some, it may be super wholesome as vulnerabilities would only be ways they can love and take care of you, but for others, not so much of a pleasant surprise. It's a good idea to see how your partner/ potential partner is with their family early on in the relationship if possible. You don't have to meet them to figure it out. Listening to stories about their childhood/memories with family is an easy way to assess without probing or scrutinising Some may be victims of their families themselves, but unaddressed traumas and hangups may be pushed unto your new family either way. If discovered early, this can save everyone a ton of heartache. As cruel as it sounds, you can decide whether you want to stay and help them work through it or leave bc it may be a selfish thought, but you didn't inflict the trauma. Either way, jumping in blindly will not help anyone. Dayum that was a rant 😭

I don't like the comments of the man dressed in pink. Why do women always have to treat him well in relation to their brother? Was the brother good to her? Are women the servants of men? For me he is a red flag. He expects his wife to always treat the family with respect and that in relation to male family members, which means she has to cook for him, clean, clean up after him what he has left behind, make him drinks again and again when he runs out. I know a lot of people in my area who have said things like that and who use women as personal slaves who do everything for them! If I don't serve my brother, I would be a bad person who is not suitable for marriage or because I don't get along with my brother, there must be a reason why a person doesn't react well to his family. If he had said siblings, but he is referring directly to father and brother. Mother and sister are also part of the family, but men have to be served. That's my opinion, I don't want to attack anyone with that.
