Also the joke work on multiple levels. Because depending on the myth source. Dionysus is Zagreus. In game they acknowledge this by making Orpheus believe that this is actualy true. The source of that myth is from cult of Orpheus that was obsessed with myth surrounding the underworld. Name after Orpheus himself. So is gay joke and selfcest joke at ounce. Depending on the story, Zeus once turned into a snake, went into the underworld and impregnated Persephone (while he was a snake) who then gave birth to Zagreus, who got torn apart, cooked and eaten by Titans after Hera found out and got reasonably angry. Zeus killed the Tiatns and then took Zagreus' remains and gave them to Semele (Dionysus mother) to revive him. From those remains rose Dionysus, but the ashes of the Titans eventually became humans... After Zeus birthed Dio from his thigh, he was given to a woman named Ino, who was instructed to dress him in girls clothes and raise him more or less as a daughter, so Hera wouldn't get suspicious of him. Also, just a fun fact: Zagreus was actually meant to be next in line on the throne after Zeus. He was supposed to take over and become the god of gods.
