I am in the process of writing my dissertation. I am 26 and even though I wasn't born into a war I was born into poverty. I grew up in an orphanage. As soon as I turned 18 I ran away from my country and moved to the UK. I only had about 100gbp (not sure about dollars, but around the same). I lived in the cheapest hostels. I worked the worst jobs. I learned English from the cratch. I managed to go to college and I am now graduating with my doctorate in Psychology. Your mom just inspired me.
