The unknown party definitely looked like mackerel to me. Love that fish, and it’s popular in Japan. Also, I personally prefer Japanese pumpkin in my tempura to sweet potato. I find it holds its texture better and has a more neutral flavor, which I think goes better with the ponzu or other sauce it’s often served with, which often is a little sweet itself

Thank you for using the music from my favourite Zelda game, the first time through the video I ended up not paying attention and my mind drifted back to little me hunched under my bedside lamp with my oldstyle Gameboy (yes, I am getting old, true middle age is only a couple of years away, please help) and being completely wrapped up the adventure unfolding Infront of me. So thank you for that little slice of childhood innocence, I am going through a lot right now and that brief moment was precious to me. @@gritmakaveli Cost-of-living/CPI adjusted, it's not as huge of a difference as one would expect. Also, pro tip: local restaurants are usually better and cheaper. McDonald's and many other major food chains jacked up their prices at rates *way* beyond inflation (because absurd profit margins $$$); most local restaurants did not follow this trend. Better food for a better price is the better option (and is also normally less processed, and supports the local economy).

I’m unfamiliar with standard tempura procedure, if they fry the whole shrimp… are you meant to *eat* the whole shrimp? Like head, eyes, and all? Or do they just fry all of it for convenience and you only eat the body or whatever?
