In this video, we’ll be looking back at ALL the retro Sonic The Hedgehog food and drinks items sold in the UK during the early-mid 1990s, at the peak of old school Sonic Mania!
I was a fussy eater as a child, but if you stuck Sonic The Hedgehog on the box I just had to have it! I have eaten or drank everything featured in this video, so I’ll share my first hand knowledge of exactly what the products were like.
Sonic the Hedgehog birthday cakes, pasta, carbonated drinks, chocolate and even tomato ketchup and crisps… Sonic The Hedgehog had it all!

Those Burtons biscuits were amence! I remember the HP pasta and the mini rolls. Have that “toy” from the bubblegum lol but it’s in bad condition. That Milky Way advert, remember those wrappers. Slightly remember Sonic with Cadburys tie-in. Awesome video!

The MilkyWay package unlocked memories! Do you remember the old biscuit snacks called Cartoonies? Little biscuits with a chocolate cream filling and they had pictures on the biscuit? I seem to remember a Sonic version of those.

I remember Cartoonies! They were great. I think there may have been a Sonic version now that you mention it... My memory is hazy on that. My brain keeps jumping back to those awesome toffee biscuits when I try to think of any others haha.

Gosh, I remember ALOT of these! Particularly the easter eggs as I too had the one with the mug, and I must of purchased soo many of the Milky Way bars in my attempt to win a copy of Sonic & Knuckles, to always see in black writing inside that I'd lost lol (I'm not sure, but I cant remember if it was advertised in Sonic the Comic? Its vague, but I remember seeing pictures of a VW van thing, that had the S&K logos on the windows? -((lol also, remember the Sonic Double decker tour bus thing?)). Thank you! It's good to be back! Yep those Milky Way ads were definitely in STC. Haha I'm pretty sure I entered that contest at least once too. Oh yeah - the tour buses! They did a few of those over the years. I was obsessed with them haha. Did you ever go on one? I have a feeling I did... I'd better check the family photo albums! Cheers!

I remember the pick n mix sweets too, I used to get them from a shop called forbouys(a newsagent I think, my local one had a toy shop section that had all the sonic toys with the Marble Zone purple packaging- that stuff is nostalgia ecstasy to me). I also used get these little packets of Sonic milk biscuits in my lunchbox, generic but amazing for 6 year old me 🤣

Man, it's neat seeing stuff like that. Now, the only one I've ever seen was the bubblegum one, since I'm from the US. And I mean, I also had a few of the McDonalds toys, thanks to a thrift store (the Robotnik one to be exact). I never knew about those Burger King toys, though.... Also... those truffle mini biscuits.... Do they still sell a non-Sonic version today? Or is that just a discontinued brand altogether? (If not, I'll have to import that at some point.... That sounded legit amazing.)

There was also adverts and promotion for Sonic R released on PC from Burger King, I managed to get Sonic, Tails and Robotnik but could never get Knuckles, his popularity was still massive in 1998. Burger King food was alot better back then too. Also a friend of mine still has his Sonic Ketchup bottle to this day 😂

I think I remember some of these products growing up. Including the TV adverts of the MacDonald’s and Burger King showing the sonic toys ^^ but my parents never brought me anything you mentioned but I do recall seeing some of them in the supermarket back in the 90’s when my mum used to drag me to Sainsbury’s lol 😂 Do you remember the hard candy’s they used to make in a shape of a whistle and when you blowed it sounded like a whistle? I swear seeing a sonic shaped one back in the day! Anyway great video! I love the nostalgia 😊
