Question Kai; I love food & experiences like this but I won't lie that my stomach fits quite a bit and often even some hearty meals leave me wanting more. Do you have any tips to make these menus more filling/enjoyable or perhaps a good way to bulk up prior or post that doesn't feel degrading to the experience?

@purpellnurpell8095
@purpellnurpell8095 2 жыл бұрын
@@landonsmith9 I searched my email and found the receipt and it was $327 for two people. That’s after tax. And I want to say that included the tip too maybe? You pay when you make the reservation. I went in 2019 so the price may have changed by now. When you get there you’ll have the option of adding on a wine or juice pairing but I can’t remember the cost. They also offered an optional bonus course that we paid extra for the day of but idk how much that was. They change chefs every couple years or so (on purpose, they don’t just quit). So the guy who’s there now is different than when I went. It makes it exciting so you can go back and have a completely different experience with each chef. The whole experience was absolutely AMAZING and I will definitely go again sometime. 🙂

Was the restaurant cool with you filming like that, or did you need to pull rank and get them to go along with the vlog idea? I've been to tasting menu restaurants plenty of times before and the ones who know what they're doing leave an incredibly impression you will remember for the rest of your life, but I would be hesitant to whip out a proper camera and start filming it. It is 2021, though, maybe they're cool with it nowadays?

Thank you for making this video. But really the tasting menu is really on the reasonable price plus $40 for wine. I imagine their a la carte dishes are reasonable too.

@@SenpaiKai9000 ahh. So you did tasting with wine pairing. This is a good concept. From an operational stand point, 100% tasting is actually easier to operate. The big upswell you have to make as a waiter is the wine pairing. Honestly for 40 that shouldn’t be that difficult. I would try to sell a cocktail or champagne in the beginning. In the end just sell port wine. For F&B just truffle everything.

$150-225. The higher end ones are in the $300 range. That's just for food. Wine pairings are an addition $125 and up

Man, I wish I could go to tasting menus, but my religious dietary restrictions make it almost impossible. That said, the dishes looked beautiful. Their lighting was great at accentuating the look of the dishes, and ended up making your video look amazing. Props!

thanks Zain! What dietary restrictions to you have. Tasting menus are actually some of the best places to go b/c they ask about that before hand and make substitutions. It's actually reaaaally common for them to anticipate all of that (:

@@SenpaiKai9000 Woah, I never knew that. I've always assumed tasting menus are extremely rigid and you just ate whatever is served lol. I'm a Muslim, so I can't consume pork and alcohol whatsoever. As for other meats, I can eat them as long as they are Halal (similar to Kosher for Jewish folk). I'm wondering if simply telling them I'm a pescatarian who can't have alcohol would make it easy for them, as I dislike making things difficult for restaurants (hence why I mostly just cook for myself at home). Would that be too odd of a request? I appreciate the response!

@@ZainxIqbal No, I'd wager that's a very common request. Fine dining restaurants aren't some posh institutions sitting on a high horse, they're there to make you feel at home and make money
