Black 2 Kaizo is a new RomHack of Black 2 that has all double battles, changes abilities and movepools, and makes the game very hard.

NUZLOCKE RULES:
Basic Rules:
-Once a Pokémon faints it is considered dead and cannot be used anymore.
-You can only catch your first encounter in every area.
-Once you white out the run is over.
Hardcore Rules:
-You cannot use items in battle. Held items are allowed.
-You have to change the Battle-Style to "Set".
-You cannot level past the next Gym Leaders strongest Pokémon.

i also started this recently. Not doing a nuzlocke bc i would've turn my hair out. That first cynthia fight is brutal. Im still respecting boss level caps, but im catching and using whatever I want. I have just beaten Clay, and im loving it so far

I tried a lot of attempts both in Reborn and then in rejuv intense v12 (in v13 i didn't even bother) and all i can say that the design of the game just isn't suited for nuzlockes. First of all the games are very long and mainly focus on plot and long dialogues, you have a gym for every type, tedious and time consuming puzzles, and if you don't use debug or shit like that grinding becomes very annoying. These factors make teamplanning for boss fights even more time consuming, and the amount of dialogues and cutscenes make wiping and resetting even worse. On top of that, especially when intense mode in rejuv still existed, you have to perfectly learn the field mechanics right away because not knowing a single detail can lead you to a wipe even in the early game because the bosses are difficult. Oh and let's not forget pulse Pokemon, rift Pokemon, fighting Mewtwo during the second badge split, lv 99 Yveltal with a 100 accuracy ohko move when your level cap is 40, lv 75 Garchomp when your level cap is 35. These games are just too slow paced and you have to go through a lot of story parts or puzzles in order to make a little bit of process. Trying a nuzlocke in this games just doesn't make you enjoy the game itself but doesn't even make you enjoy nuzlocking.

You should nuzlocke one of the rpg maker rom hacks (insurgence, rejuv, etc.) I do have a debug menu for a few of those games that I could hook you up with

take time for move choices, equip items, think about what the ai wants to do and what position you'll be in next turn

i love this romhack but also hate it cause it became pokemon battle damage calculator and pray for rng gods xd also its more like playing chess you can predict some of the outcomes but there is always that annoying rng especially with moves that multi hit, also it feels like the status condition chance is upped getting poisoned every time poison sting or poison fang hits etc xd ok maybe not every time but like 80-90% of the time

iirc nicknaming isn't a 'core' rule, and is mainly there for nuzlocking for story, not nuzlocking for challenge
