I Attempted BULLET JOURNALING For The FIRST Time...

Today I tried a 2020 bullet journal (bujo) set up for the first time! As an artist I like being creative but bullet journal pages and layouts and spreads and designs are definitely new to me, I wanted to try to be organized and try something new so..here it is! What do you think?

@@sergiotorres2835 Aww, I'm sorry you feel that way; sometimes I do too. I have really shaky hands and my handwriting is big and clunky. But I usually manage to shrug it off because character that it really matters. You can have the prettiest handwriting in the world and still be a terrible person.

I’m also starting a bujo in 2020 and I was doing a quote on a page which was ‘12 new chapters, 365 new chances.’ And as soon as I wrote 365 I questioned myself and checked on google how many days are in 2020 AND ITS 366. ITS A LEAP YEAR PEOPLE.

I know that nobody will see this, but journaling helped me stop being an alcoholic! I didn't do bullet journaling, I just got a nice pen, and a nice journal, and I would fill it out for about an hour every night to fill in the time I would spend hitting the bottle. It eventually led to other hobbies like calligraphy, making music, and a full life without the crutch of booze. Anyways, if you're struggling out there, know that you're not alone, there is help out there, and art may be your ticket out! *end soapbox rant*

When I first attempted to bullet journal I failed miserably. But then I was trying to make it so bright and colourful and pretty. Didn't work for me. Now I use black fineliners and a Waffleflower stamp for my monthly charting in my Habit Tracker, and that's it. And that works for me! I use it every day, and it helps! The pressure to make your journal so pretty and a work of art every month can be an issue for a lot of people. You don't need a beautiful graphic mood tracker, and line charts, and things you need colour indexes for. It's a journal and it's main purpose is to help you be more productive and keep track of things. If colourful spreads work for you to do that, great! If black pen on white with no drawing and more data and calendar stuff works for you, great! I find people get so caught up in the art "oh it has to be pretty!" aspect that they end up getting none of the actual help in organization and planning from it. Do what works for you!

2020 is going to be my 4th year bullet journaling. My journals are not pretty, but every year it gets better. My goal for this year is to Make it mine, and dont compare it with others. Its my creative space and it does not need to be pretty. It only needs to work for your needs. Have hope people! 🧡

Rebella Darkstar I’ve been creative journaling for over two months, and bullet journaling for a month now. My world truly opened up when I stopped comparing myself to other people who bullet journal, and realised that I can do whatever the hell I want in my bullet journal. There’s no rules when it comes to bullet journaling, and people shouldn’t feel like there is rules. I do some of the more popular bullet journal entries of course, like a habit tracker and a mood tracker, but that’s because it works for me. I think I’ve been pretty lucky because I found myself pretty quickly with bullet journaling:)

Well thought I’d say this for people who like bullet journaling but can’t afford some of the nicer supplies a bujo is for you and only you it doesn’t have to be perfect. Mine looks like a hot mess with horrid hand writing. But since I started journaling this year it’s improved. So

I did my first bullet journal in 2017. It's been a journey, but I can't live without them anymore. It's so nice to see someone starting in the bullet journal word and seeing the things that I used to do wend I started. Just don't take your bullet too seriously and you'll see how amazing it is to have such a different vision of your own life. I truly wish that you start to love bullet journal the same amount that I do. ❤❤❤

Technically speaking (because everyone loves a KZbin comment that starts that way), all you need for Bullet Journalling is any notebook and any writing implement. The key to making it work is having an index and numbered pages, and some kind of "future log" calendar if you aren't already using an app on your phone for that.

A bullet journal doesn't have to be perfect or pretty even though that's what most people show on the internet. The whole point is kind of to have a calender and all your notes you take at the same place. It needs to be practical not pretty.

borkdogey then maybe a planner might be better for you. Bullet journaling is like a planner except you get to customize it to your own likings and needs. But not everyone has time so maybe a planner might work out better.

Definitely try a planner. It’s ready to go, no fuss. Otherwise I use my phone, iPhones have the reminders, notes, and calendars. To clarify: I use the weekly journal for the different types of trackers, and words a day.

I see you are a very creative girl! 👍🧚🏻‍♀️ The more you use your journal, the more you will adapt it to your needs. When I first started, I put too many pages that I didn’t really needed. Now, I feel pretty good about my journal. I have simplified it and found new layouts that I love and use well. What I like about it is when I plan a new month and I can be artistic. I use watercolors, inks, funny stickers, etc.. You could also do a video plan with a monthly spread. It is a suggestion for your video ideas 😉 I liked the painted shells you showed in your video. That must be fun to make! Anyway I subscribed to your channel so I will receive notice when you do another one! Is it just me or ain’t the index suppose to be at the back of the book and the context suppose to be at the front. Maybe I’m wrong. But like yikes, I wonder if she’s gonna notice and regret it. Edit: Wow I didn’t know I was gonna start a conversation aha. But I’ve been watching some other bullet journal videos and I’ve sent a couple others doing it too, so yeah.

Yeah in America we have a list at the front of a book called an Index of Contents

I think its the glossary that's at the back and the contents/index is at the front. The difference is that the glossary is a list of words in the book and their meanings, while the index is the titles of the sections in the book.
