A 1:9 rate of twist would mean the bullet moves 9 inches by the time it makes a full revolution.

bent barrels was tested and played with in ww2 for tanks. so if someone was on your tank they could shoot them off. it was much less of a curve in the barrel though. it would just splatter the targets in broken bullet, but up close it wouldnt matter, especially since body armor wasnt really worn at that time
