Hello, Viking Samurai. This is absolutely ridiculous. I'm so tired of humans disrespecting Bruce Lee. All of a sudden, everyone has beaten him, everyone can beat him. Even though I respect the man you're interviewing, this is where I draw the line. All these legendary Martial Artists like - Bolo Yueng, Jim Kelly, Joe Lewis (Heavyweight Kickboxing champion), Chuck Norris and Jackie Chan, all said the same thing. Bruce was untouchable, his speed unmatched, combined with freakish strength, and Martial Arts techniques that flowed, too fast for the eyes to see. They watched Bruce defeat black belts with ease. On top of that, Jackie Chan said, when he did Enter the Dragon with Bruce, as one of the guys he beat up on the island, that Bruce hurt him, when Bruce wasn't even moving his fastest, wasn't even using alot of strength. Like wow, this guy can move, but he considers it a highlight of his life, to have been a part of the most important Martial Arts film ever made, the most profitable one too. Saying, "Oh, I beat Bruce Lee. All these other guys can beat him too." That's the head shaking moment and walk away. You don't have to disrespect someone else, in order to elevate yourself. Please, don't be like Michael Jai White. Thanks, for the video, Viking Samurai, but as I've mentioned, this is getting old. TERRANCE OUT

Demonstration is not important, what is important is can Bruce Lee really spar? Yes! Bruce Lee beat a traditional Kung Fu master because of a modified style. Even in those days if you spar a Wing Chun guy you will get tangled up before you use TKD or Boxing to beat them. No. I think a Mix of a kicking art and a short arm Kung Fu style can defeat Lee sparring. But not this guy and a hand full of prehistoric Karate guys. at the time.

Vic has changed this story so many times, it's hard to keep up. In another interview from around a decade ago, he said he blocked the first 2 punches, then glanced away and Bruce then threw the 3rd punch. Vic said he swatted at it, because he thought it was funny that Bruce would throw a sudden face punch after the first one's were chest punches. Then he apparently asked Bruce to block 3 of his punches and said Bruce only blocked the 3rd. Then he talked about them sparring afterwards and Bruce telling him that he was the fastest American he ever saw. But.... that's not what happened in the video at all. After Bruce's 3 punches, Vic laughs, bows, shakes his hand and then exits the floor. Also, according to a 1998 program called "Masters of the Martial Arts", hosted by Wesley Snipes, the narrator says Bruce said Steve Muhammed(Sanders) had the fastest hands alive. Lastly, Bruce was a TV star in 1967. Not a movie star. He did television shows starting in 1966 with The Green Hornet. He also appeared in Longstreet and Marlowe. The Bog Boss didn't come out until the 70s. Bruce's film career before that was as a child actor in Hong Kong. Vic was a champion. Yes. Vic was fast, yes. Vic also is the hero in every story he tells. He makes himself out to be almost superhuman. He lost to Chuck Norris, but doesn't bring that up without saying he actually beat Chuck. That's Chuck being humble to Vic. Doesn't really talk about his defeats. He was even featured in a video called Vic Moore: The Man Who Beat Them All. Yikes.... I think Vic didn't get the same recognition that other black martial artists like Thomas Lapuppet, Chaka Zulu, Moses Powell, Steve Sanders, Jim Kelly and a few others did. And for the last decade or so, he's been giving interviews and coming out as the mysterious and unstoppable fighter that even Bruce Lee feared. The ego is what kills me here. I haven't even seen Vic give an interview in street clothes. It's as if his marital arts legacy matters so greatly to him that he won't appear without his Karate gi and belt for fear you'll forget he's a 10th Dan and a champion. Yeah, it all comes across as bitterness that you can practically taste through the screen.

I find it HILARIOUS that someone says "Vic Moore had his hands down" when Bruce Lee moved in......yeah from six fee away!! Truth is all of us 60-70 year people remember that in those days There was no full contact Sparring. At that time when Bruce Lee and his students engaged in full gear Sparring, in front of the audince, it was UNHEARD OF. Point sparring was the name of the game in those days, which is why Bruce Lee believed that a Boxer or wrestler could beat most Martial artisits. Full contact did not begin in the USA until the 70s by which time Brbuce lee was fully engaged in Movies. I dont think Bruce Lee was a god, but he was amazing, every generation produces certain special people. Michael Jordan, Floyd Mayweather, Muhammed Ali, Michael Jackson and Bruce Lee.

Wow…just wow. This “extended cut” of Moore’s Long Beach experience with him sparring and humiliating Lee could be straight out of Birth of the Dragon, which basically inverts history, and is right up there with escrimador Trovador Ramos’ claim that he beat Lee as well. But, hey, maybe this startling footage, suppressed for the sake of preserving the Bruce Lee myth, will surface at the same time some Lee/Seagal footage does, lol. As for the “selectively edited” demo-which Bruce’s student Steve Golden saw and said Moore didn't block a darn thing-what stands out for me is the laughter and smiling handshake at the end. Moore, at least to me, appears to be good-naturedly thanking Lee with a "Dang, you're good" gesture and they respectfully bow to each other. That's it; nothing to see here, folks. Why all of this has evolved and devolved into a bitter, dismissive, seemingly delusional tall tale that goes out of its way to shit on a guy that, far as I know, showed no disrespect toward Moore or any practitioners of color back in the day, is beyond me. I think it was Inosanto student Paul Vunak who said it best: When Bruce was alive, people walked on eggshells around him, but after he died…

Joe Lewis, one of the greatest karate champions of America was skeptical of Bruce at first. Why would he waste his time, if Bruce didn’t have the goods. But he realised Bruce’s knowledge, talent and skill. So did Chuck Norris and so many other martial art pioneers of the time. Eg. Wally Jay, Gene Lebell, Jhoon Rhee, Ed Parker, Hayward Nishioka. People who trained him or trained with him or trained by him and/or were his friends. They all have utmost respect for the man and his skill and dedication to the martial arts. I think Vic Moore is just very sour that the video is forever out there. As a martial artist he should be more humble and show some humility and respect to a man who has long passed.

The delusional state he's in is incredible. He wears a Karate gi like it's supposed to lend him credibility when it just comes off as a sad Halloween costume trying to hide his gut. His ignorance on the subject of Lee is shown when he calls it "Jeet KWAN Do". Lee in that vic moore footage is respectful and considerate to human beings by making sure there's enough space, ensuring vics safety Lee pulls his strike a good 5-10 inches away from moore's face. This guy shoots an interview video with you right in front of his refrigerator. You know even if you want to say you upped one on Bruce that might be fine if you at least acknowledged something good about Bruce, he doesn't even speak one honest attribute for Lee. He's gotta put Lee down to elevate himself I guess.

Many magazines indicated that Moore beat Norris, Lewis and Stone, all top guys. But we’re talking tournaments. Also, Lee gave a demo during his eclectic phase, he was still putting his JKD together. Nobody, and I mean nobody, ever said that Lee was able to block Moore’s punches, so there has to be something to that. Remember Lee had promotors, he was a product of Hollywood. Moore was an unknown, and whatever happened in the gym that day was left in that gym. However, two top black belts have confirmed that Moore was faster, and one of them knew Lee well, and had a role in Enter the Dragon. He was the instructor of Jim Kelly’s Kenpo class in the beginning of the film, he underlined that Moore was faster. Where is everyone else to dispute that claim?

Playing devils advocate, I think Vic Moore just wants his side heard. Imagine you’re being ridiculed for 50 plus years without anyone considering his side of things. In 1967 Vic Moore appeared at the Long Beach International Karate Championships in Long Beach, California and participated in a martial arts speed drill against Jeet Kun Do founder and movie star, Bruce Lee. The point of the speed drill challenge was to stop Lee's famous unstoppable punch. Lee told Moore that he was going to throw a straight punch to the face, and all he had to do was to try to block it. Lee took several steps back and asked if Moore was ready. When Moore nodded in affirmation, Lee glided towards him until he was within striking range. He then threw a straight punch directly at Moore's face, and stopped before impact. In eight attempts, Moore allegedly failed to block any of the punches. In contrast, Moore and Grandmaster Steve Mohammed said that Lee had first told Moore that he was going to throw a straight punch to the body, which Moore blocked. Lee attempted another punch, and Moore blocked it as well. The third punch, which Lee threw to Moore's face, did not come nearly within striking distance. Moore claims that Lee never successfully struck Moore but Moore was able to strike Lee on two successful attempts, immediately after Lee had made the three attempts described above. Moore further claims that Bruce Lee said he was the fastest American he's ever seen and that Lee's media crew repeatedly played the one punch towards Moore's face that did not come within striking range, allegedly in an attempt to give the impression that Lee had thrown eight successive punches and thereby preserve Lee's superstar image. In response to Moore and Mohammed's claims, Chuck Sullivan, who is the Senior Grandmaster of the International Karate Connection Association (IKCA) and who witnessed the event, recalled in an interview on Viking Samurai’s KZbin channel that Moore failed to block all incoming punches and never struck back at Bruce Lee. In the middle of the interview, the channel host called Moore by phone to confront him with Chuck's testimony. Moore stood by his claims and further asserted that Bruce Lee actually cried after failing to block his punches, an event that Sullivan categorically denied witnessing.

Joe Lewis is a weird one when it comes to talking about Bruce...he was Bruce student for more time than what he had spent studying Karate..... we have multiple students of Bruce saying that he sparred with every one of his students, because he didn't believe in only training with drills because it was too unrealistic (something that was pretty taboo for basically all traditional martial artist back then, even in the US, the only ones that did spar, where of course boxers, but not martial artist)....one day we have Joe Lewis saying that Bruce had the power of an heavywheight (by the way heavywheight for that time and for martial artist, so it is not equal of the HW of the UFC today for example), and you can find the video of him saying that as well, then on another interview he says that he didn't know how his chin was because they never sparred, and that he was too big for Bruce anyway...... i think that in the years he flip flopped many times about how legit Bruce was as a fighter. That could be for a lot of reasons: 1 because he really didn't spar with him....but even then, was it even possible that he never saw him spar against anybody else? since Bruce preached sparring as a training method, and Joe was his student, and most of his other students, besides Joe Lewis and Chuck Norris, said that he would spar with them regularly. 2 Because of their status of World Champions (both Chuck and Joe) they couldn't say that Bruce was as good as them, or better, because it would have tarnished their reputations, since they were bigger than him, and they were the fighters, not Bruce. 3 he did spar with them, but he was way worse than them, even that would have not been good, hence why not telling anyone about it, since back then, it would have probably seemed to the public eye (something that today would not have been a problem at all by the way) backwards for them to be Bruce's student if he was not good at fighting (again, something that today would have not been a problem, since Bruce was way smaller than both of them, and most good coaches don't need to be better fighters than their students to be good trainers/coach), also, saying that Bruce was worse than them as a fighter, would have impacted Bruce's business, since his brand was to be a great martial art teacher (yes, his brand was not the movie star..not yet at least, since, a part from the Green Hornet, and some other little cameos in TV shows he had yet to do most of his movies in China).

Joe Lewis sort of changed his story from time to time… However, he said that he “got popped a couple of times” by Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do and that’s how he knew it worked. Furthermore, Joe stated that Bruce hit with the power of a heavyweight person… How would he know that, unless Bruce hit him? Additionally, Joe mentioned that Bruce was the fastest person that ever stood in front of him and that Bruce knew exactly when his opponent was not paying attention and that Bruce used that moment to hit his opponent. Joe mentioned that Bruce was at a Zen level in that department. Well, how much more did Joe have to say about Bruce to have you realize that Bruce Lee was the real deal? Chuck Norris said that Bruce Lee was very good (okay, he said Bruce was not a professional) and that he (Chuck) did not want to have a fight with Bruce. He also mentioned that had Bruce decided to prove himself in the ring, he believes that Bruce would have done exceptionally well. How much more should Chuck Norris say about Bruce Lee’s abilities, in order for people to realize that Bruce Lee was the real deal? Jim Kelly said that Bruce Lee was unbelievable and at least a level above everyone else. He also mentioned that he had seen Bruce spar with many martial arts champions and that he bested all of them. How much more did Jim Kelly have say about Bruce Lee, in order for us to understand that Bruce Lee was the real deal? Jhoon Rhee (the father of Tae Kwon Do in the U.S.A.) said that Bruce Lee was a great martial artist and the real deal. Isn’t that enough for us to believe in Bruce’s abilities? Mike Stone said that Bruce Lee was the real deal too. Just watch his podcast, where he was asked questions about who would win in a fight between Bruce and Mike Tyson or Bruce vs other good fighters and see what he responds… How much more does Mike Stone need to say about Bruce Lee for people to believe that Bruce Lee was indeed that good? Jene LeBelle said that Bruce Lee was a “world class martial artist.” Isn’t that enough, coming out of the mouth of Jene LeBelle? Dan Inosanto said that Bruce Lee was an exceptional martial artist and that he (Dan) was not in Bruce Lee’s league when it came to martial arts, including sparring. Isn’t that enough proof, coming from a reputable martial artist? James DeMile said that Bruce Lee was so good that Bruce used to embarrass him, even though James was a lot heavier than Bruce and James was an accomplished judoka and a boxer to boot. Isn’t that a legitimate testimony about the real skills Bruce Lee possessed? Jackie Chan said that Bruce Lee was great and that he was the real deal. Isn’t that a good enough testimony? Bolo Young said that Bruce Lee was on a higher level than him in martial arts. Ed Parker thought that Bruce Lee was a great martial artist and that is why he specifically invited him to be a special guest at the first World Karate Championships. Sugar Ray Leonard believes that Bruce Lee was great martial artist and that he was the real deal. Who else do we need to tell us that Bruce Lee was the real deal so we could believe it? Does Bruce Lee need to come back from the dead and become a UFC champion or something? Common people, get real here… No matter what stories surface around about Bruce Lee, we have to always remember certain facts: 1) All great martial arts champions of the time went to Bruce Lee for lessons and not the other way around. 2) Joe Lewis used to teach a lot of the stuff that Bruce Lee thought him and he used Bruce’s name to promote it. Just watch his educational videos on here… 3) Not a single person dared to challenge Bruce Lee’s “real deal “ status while he was alive. 4) Bruce Lee was arguably the first person to start using sparring equipment that later became a common part of every martial arts dojo. He did that, because he strongly disliked the point system fighting, where the combatants were not actually following through with their strikes, but instead a referee was to determine who would have hurt the other combatant more, based on assumptions. 5) Bruce Lee created a bigger following than any other martial artist in history. He paved the way for everyone else after him. It is not a coincidence that Bruce Lee is a legend. It is not a coincidence that so many great martial artists went to him for lessons. Yes, there are coincidences in life, but when there is more than one coincidence, maybe two, we must realize that this is actually the norm. The naysayers can bark all day, but they cannot change that.

Why? Bruce Lee was a great philosopher, great actor but he WAS NOT a competitor. I wasn't a huge Vic Moore fan but he was a very great competitor. Comparing Bruce Lee to most if these strive fighters is like comparing Greg Jackson to Jon Jones! I know a man personally you can look him up, Mariano Estioko, second American yo reach black belt in Tang Soo Do who was friends with Bruce and regularly put it to him in sparring.

@Charlie C Never heard of a friend of Bruce called Mariano Estioko.. he says what? my english kinda sucks Did Vic Moore fought full contact? Bruce trained like a pro, is like he lived in competition to be the best, but was.not all about him, he tried to.give to the world.the truth in martial arts

If Vic had of beat bruce in anything it would have got around like chinese whispers. Jim kelly would know about it and word got back to Jim from all his peers was bruce was untouchable. Of course Jim Kelly didn't see all incidents but Jim did speak amongst his fellow pros and share stories and experiences with bruce.

In all do respect to the grandmaster 🙏. Bruce was not a movie star in 1967. It wasn’t until after that event that he was offered the role to play Kato. Therefore, that was cap 🧢. People need to do more research and stop listening to emotional responses.

Great video how did i miss this ? lol just seeing it now . If its true its not disrespectful , its the history . Weither or not bruce got bested by someone doesnt take anything away from bruce lee that we love . There is no ufc fighter that stays in there long enough and doesnt lose lol its a natural part of the game . Who can truly call them selves a master if they never had to learn from losing . The gracies lost all the greats lost and used it to make their system better . How could bruce be a master if he has never lost ?Agreat video is chuck norris being asked about who would win between him and bruce his reply was chuck was many time full contact champion bruce was a actor . Nothing takes away bruce brought martial arts to the world his philsophy is seen in all mma competitions today . Bruce was a pioneer he will always be loved , The history wont change that

Hello Viking Samurai. In the original video of the demonstration you can clearly see that Moore touches Lee's hand when he is turning back after he has already struck at Moore's face level. Blocking means intercepting first, doing it later what is the point? It makes no sense.

On Bruce's two-fingered pushups. Does anyone have any segments on anyone doing close to what Bruce did? A few months ago, I had an online exchange with someone who claimed he had evidence of actors doing the two-fingered pushups just like Bruce did. I asked for names. He couldn't provide them. He then tried to deflect the issue by trying to debate what "just like" means. Anyone?
