unpopular opinion: Yhorm could and should have been a kind of reference to tower knight from demon souls, where he takes almost no dmg on his body but staggers easily and is weak to headshots. Thats already an aspect of the fight and works well, so the storm ruler shouldn't have existed. They could have used storm ruler on another boss

Yhorm can already work relatively well as a normal fight if you have something that can hit his head, but the fight's still boring because he only has like 3 moves. They should have thought out that fight in a totally different way. At least Rykard is the same concept but leeeeagues more fun and engaging

Yhorm only does the proper full stagger from being hit in either his head or his right hand (left for us) that's holding the machete and doing a certain amount of damage, the other stagger is just from dealing enough poise damage to any part of him. The head and hand actually have different 'health bars' for being staggered, so if you math and count it correctly you could hit hand and have him stagger, riposte him and then hit his head and make stagger and riposte right after

As a wall user I had stop 2mins in. Normal attacks exists. I think the only things you can't do are parry and fall attack. I think a jump attack is possible. But not using a normal one door attack against even the first boss was painful xD

While it would be funny to add door shields to ER, it's technically not needed. Shields are given proper weapon scaling in ER so simply twohanding one and bashing enemies to death with it is perfectly viable
