Lol, very interested in your gaming thoughts! I have the played the first 3 hour expirience. I feel like Ive only heard people say "dont use the shields. dodge and parry, and if you can't, use spells." But you *should* use shields first!

This is the cutest Elden Ring video on KZbin. If you aren't following them already, I highly recommend Zullie the Witch and The Tarnished Archaeologist channels. Did you fight Malenia, Blade of Miquella? What did you think of the Godskin Duo? What was your favourite moment? Are you looking forward to the DLC expansion? Have you got a PS5 yet, Justin? You can put it in a low power state to come back to later as well. On Xbox Series X you can do that with MULTIPLE games (!) though it can be a bit glitchy.

Dude, you are one of the most passionate souls fans i've ever seen and if i had to bet i would say Miyazaki makes these games for people like you. People who want to marvel at the journey and want to discover things by themselves. I also struggle with the opaque nature of them and finding the balance between discovering things yourself and getting help from others is probably the way to do it.

Didn't expect Elden Ring talk here. So glad Elden Ring clicked for you! I think a big part of the appeal of these games is a sense of community. Not even playing with others necessarily, but the idea that everyone is sharing and passing along knowledge on how to play the game. Brings back kids at recess talking about Final Fantasy.

39 minutes in and I don't think you've mentioned a HUGE component of the Souls series... Player messages. Were you playing offline? Re areas of the game where you have to perform an emote, player messages may tell you to try that. They may also lie lol

The best souls is Dark Souls 3. Sekiro sucks. And bloodborne is a bastard child.
