Acting wealthy is tough, but one thing I did is I wanted to dress better. Went to my local thrift shop and found a rugby polo for just $5.00 and it was half off so I got it for just $2.50. Plus they had a bunch of other expensive name brand casual dress shirts, slacks and dress shoes for lowcost. I figured no one would know what I paid outside of my immediate family so why not. You definitely feel different when you have on some $300 Allen Edmonds and a $100 name brand casual button down dress shirt.

If the only thing you have to lose is time, then this statement is entirely true and I think your mind can accept it more. But THEN the thing becomes if you're putting up time, you want to either win quickly or fail quickly. If something requires a lot of sweat equity and there is a legit chance all you might get out of it is a hard lesson in what doesn't work or at least doesn't work for you that just won't cut it. Especially if you're over a certain age and don't have time to give like someone who is much younger.

I think a better analogy is that of trying to get a pulley of bricks in motion. The hardest part is getting any sort of initial traction. But once it's in motion its easy to keep it going and go harder and faster than it would be to stop and then have to reexert a strong effort to get it back in motion again.
