'I Believe I Am Prince Charles & Camilla's Secret Son' | This Morning

55-year-old Simon Charles Dorante-Day has spent decades trying to prove one thing… that he is the secret love child of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles. The British-born engineer who now lives in Australia, says that his adoptive grandmother told him the Duchess of Cornwall was his mother back in 1998, and he now believes he has the evidence to prove it (including his Windsor-like cheek bones and teeth). The Royal couple have never responded to his claims, but he joins us today to share his story, and his hope of being reunited with his biological parents. We’ll also be putting his claims to Royal biographer Robert Jobson.

He won't do a public heritage ancestry DNA test to show what his lineage may be. The adoptive grandmother, who raised him, told him this story because his actual parents gave him up.... as did many unmarried single mothers had to do back then. Release your birth certificate to the press mate. Then a background check can be done on your parents listed and dna tests on any possible surviving half siblings. He will never do that!

I feel for Simon, I can't however say that I see any resemblance to either Camilla or Charles. But whether royal or not, I hope he finds out something about his parentage in the foreseeable future. Someone below has mentioned that DNA tests can show up who your cousins are. Changing someone's eye colour is pretty drastic, especially in the early 70s. After all, blue eyes are pretty common in the UK. Most members of my family are blue eyed. When I was young I was told that Princess Anne looked like me and in later years was told I looked like Diana. I am 77 now and know exactly who my parents were so am not claiming anything. My husband was often told that he looked like Charles. His brother has resembled Andrew. Sometimes, we will see what we want to see. Not knowing one's origins can gnaw away at you. I hope Simon discovers his.

The royal family doesn't need a dna test. They know exactly who he is; they always have known. Their major tactic is to stonewall. The Firm has the advantage because they are essentially above the law. I wish him the best, but in think if and when he finally succeeds, he will find they are not the happy family he is hoping for. But still I wish him the best because, on balance I think his story is the truth. It just makes too much sense, and fits too well with how the life of Charles and Camilla unfolded. It explains their inability to give each other up. It explains Charles suddenly being sent to school in Australia for two terms, which was outside of royal precedent, and which is almost never referred to when his educational history is discussed.

@@thatonethisone5904 my heart truly goes out to you, I am not directly adopted but as I mentioned, my father and partner were, as is a good friend of mine, and it’s like a hole that they just cannot seem to fill, regardless of whether the adoptive parents/family were lovely or not. My partner has a real fascination with heritage and blood, often saying to my daughter “that’s your Celtic blood making you that way” or “that’s your Scottish blood that gives you your curls” etc. My father is more subdued with it, he’s a man of pure love but few words, but on occasions I’ve spoken to him about it and he says it’s something he just cannot get out his head, they what if’s. My father often wonders if his birth mother has been looking for him, if she has passed away or still alive, who she is and where she comes from, strangely he isn’t so preoccupied with his birth father. I truly hope you can find peace in your heart someday, adoption is so common but the effects of such isn’t often spoken about. Sending best wishes from my family to yours.

He doesn’t have those strong Mountbatten genes that everyone in the family carries. This can be easily solved. No Royal needs to take a dna test. Only he needs to and he can take any consumer genetics test (Ancestry or 23andMe would be best, and FamilyTree YDNA if he so chooses). If he has any close ish matches, 2nd-3rd cousin or closer, he’ll be able to tell who his ancestral family is on his own without much analysis.

It doesn’t really matter if they’re lovely people or he or his daughter look like them. That’s not science, though my opinion is that he doesn’t look like them much. All the descendants of that family have very similar features that are unmistakable. It’s easier for a common person to take a DNA test than to go through the red tape of having a royal do it. If he has done one, instead of flying all over various news outlets, it’s be much easier for him to share the receipts. If he expects them to take a DNA test, he’d better at minimum show the genetic evidence he has in his possession. That’d be the best way to get their attention, anyway. Instead of writing unanswered letters, he’d simply have to show the genetic study he did from his own DNA test. I personally don’t believe he has any such evidence, which is why he hasn’t shared it.

DNA can jump generations and get active long later. That is why black people can get a white child and the oposite and non of their siblings got that gene activated! I have malinesian DNA. But not anyone else in my family. That doesn't mean that the DNA test is wrong. It's just that that specific gene is active in me and not my siblings. Read more about DNA and how that works. That no one has the exact same DNA and that it jump generations. That I have a thread of DNA that my siblings don't even though it can be a small percentage and so on. But still my DNA shows that I am closer related to my parents than my siblings and that i am closer related to siblings than my cousins. But the futher away the family tree goes the harder it is to put the DNA right on the family tree. Still the DNA is correct because of it's abilitly to jump generations. So therefor a distant person can be related with me in a strain of the DNA but not in the family tree because of that it jumps generations. There is also. As you say different DNA tests for different purposes. But they aren't wrong unless you mess up the test and accidently happens to get another ones DNA with you.
