you know this woman had a great presence and an even more impressive voice...and those beautiful blue eyes...could make anyone melt. i would love to see the stars of today be able to wear the beautiful gowns created just for miss froman. as a kid i remember two things about her...her outfits and "with a song in my heart"!

Beautiful voice... wonderful story and wonderful lady. Susan Hayward's portrayal of Jane Froman in "With A Song In My Heart" is spectacular. Both ladies are remembered and appreciated by so many.

All this, and after sustaining such terrible, crippling injuries - borne of that military plane-crash while touring the WII bases - and yet she fought-back, and again won the hearts of her audiences, worlwide, who loved and admired her all the more for it. This, irrespective of the fact that she sang from a wheelchair, in her post-injury years. What a singer, what an entertainer, what an awesome soul !

I am so enjoying KZbin because I get to discover these wonderful singers of the past. How I wish we had people like this today. Thank you KZbin and all the people who post these songs.

I guess part of the answer to those who are sad to think that Jane is "forgotten" is here on youtube. The internet through the people who post her videos, is bringing her great charm to a new audience, and most of her recordings are available on itunes, so she her memory is still bery much alive through today's media.

My uncle owned a Jane Froman extended play which was a present from my father in 1952. They were both fans. I started listening to the record in the eighties and fell in love with her beautiful dramatic voice.

Jane Froman... such a voice, such wonderful vocal technique, such courage and such an indominitable spirit. So thankful for the recordings that remain, & for the few tv performances that have endured, such as this intense & moving example. May she never be forgotten...

I haven't watched this for quite a while. I still find it unforgettable, a classic to be preserved - in memory, and through all the electronic/technological devices available today. This song, as sung by the incomparable Jane Froman, warrants a place in our collective memory- for great music, as well as for appreciation of this courageous humanitarian.

This was a most extraordinary woman! If this clip was truly from her final TV show, with her idyllic marriage also failing, she shows only strength and power through the (or, at least one of) most magnificent voice ever to interpret the "Great American Songbook"!

I have just discovered her by watching A Song in my Heart. What a fabulous voice and lady. She is already one of my idols. If only more would discover this great treasure!

The song was a sensation. Mitch Miller quickly had Frankie Laine cover it for Columbia and then many other covers followed. One of the greatest recordings was by Joni James for her inspirational album "Give Us This Day" released in 1957. People were shocked when Jane Froman's T.V. show went off. It was such a tough time for her professionally and personally, though you'd never know from this magnificent performance. She was always a champion.

I have commented, with deep appreciation,to a number of the gifts Video X 2 has given us to remember Jane Froman, herself, in "live"performances. I have not commented before now, in appreciation of " I Believe", because I have not found sufficient words to express the breadth, depth and feeling in my personal response to this opportunity to see Froman, herself, sing this beautiful song. (That is still true - yet I want to say "Thank You").

I couldn't agree more, Hugo! I've always loved Jane Froman....grew up with her records, but now! Look! It's her on What's my Line!!! And I continually find 20 somethings saying things like, "who is this wonderful woman?" (or man) when they find someone they like. I think youtube and the internet are going to complete revolutionize culture in a wonderful way.

A compilation of Jane Froman's recordings would be great. Artists like this should be remembered and appreciated but who is left out there to make it happen? This music once transcended all levels of society --- civilization and refinement or at least the aspiration/admiration of it, were not confined to a few. Can such talent exist in this world? At least we know that it once did --- and the world was a far better place when it reflected such truth and passion.

i remember her 15 minute tv program as a child in the 50's. it was always a treat for our family to watch her. when "with a song in my heart" the movie of her life was released, my brother and i went to see it, and were surprised she had been injured in a plain crash and wore a brace. it was not noticeable on her program. November 10th will mark the 100th birtday of this beautiful woman.

ladies of the 20th century were indeed perfect, nice looks ,voice and performance... fairuz the famous lebanese singer sang this song but in arabic version .they change a bit the words but kept same concept . first time to sing it was in a christmas show between years 1953 -1955 ( no specific date for 1st she sang it) due to loss of many documentation... however what people listen to is the recording of 1968 which we found it in many CDs

Thanks so much. I go in cycles with what I'm listening to & I noticed that the videos I'd saved in my playlists of Jane's disappeared, deleted so I thought I'd collect a few & I'd never seen that exact clip. If that voice doesn't make you believe in something nothing can. Love to see some of her old shows, or listening to her I see Susan Hayward in my head (nothing wrong with that!) From a technical standpoint, it's fascinating to watch Froman's use of mouth & throat & breathing.

Jane Froman's weekly 15 minute Thursday night "interlude" was cancelled in June 1955 because CBS was clearing away its 7:30-8pm(et) time period of back-to-back quarter-hour news [Douglas Edwards] and music [Perry Como, Jo Stafford, Jane] programs, following ABC's lead in scheduling half-hour entertainment programming at 7:30 for the fall [mostly action/adventure series like "THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD" and "SGT. PRESTON OF THE YUKON"]. There was just no room for Jane in prime-time any more...
