This interpretation of Gisela is very interesting! She canonically does care about Keefe, just in a very twisted way. Also, that crying animation? Awesome. The subtle changes in her posture and the way her face/jaw moves with her mouth are both amazing, not to mention that you can see her sharp breaths and they align with the audio. Keefe looks so peaceful as he's sleeping, and you can literally see his chest rise and fall as he breathes! The frames with Gisela adjusting Keefe's cloak and smiling at him absolutely destroyed me. Like, you can see how genuinely happy and proud she is, but her joy is based on an idealized version of Keefe that does everything she wants. And that's just DEVESTATING because Keefe will never be that person. He will never get the affection he needs and deserves. And that's exactly what the frame at 0:27 shows... dang. 🥲 The Neverseen is looking fabulous! THEN THAT MAGNIFICENT BLINK ANIMATION! Like, it's so beautiful and smooth, but her eyes also has Keefe's reflection in it! Wow! Those gorgodons (I believe that's what they are?) are also very cool and terrifying looking. And that smirk. AAAAA! You can kind of see the familial resemblance with that facial expression! I would also like to compliment the excellent symbolism, with the drop of blood on the hairpin. Oh, one more think! Gisela's hair is so pretty in this. Like, the detail of the braids and the hair pins is so cool.

the description is so true. i find myself complaining about a lot of story aspects about kotlc but there are really golden bits like keefe and gisela that need to be appreciated i love keefe with all my heart and he’s really well done but i wish more people paid attention to gisela. she’s a bad person but in her eyes this was the right path-she thought that it would give keefe a better life. of course, that doesn’t happen, but that really makes gisela complex. i wish shannon gave more gisela because she is the start of a really relatable (and still horrible person) character whoch contrasts keefe a lot i can talk about how much i love keefe for hours but im pretty sure everyone knows how amazing his story is lol

Seriously though they have one of the most interesting relationships in the entire series, Gisela is fascinating and I'd really love to read a short story from her POV. I don't believe her actions are justified, but I'd love to see how she justifies it to herself. Such a good animatic! The expressions? *chefs kiss*

Oh my lord! This was absolutely fantastical and AMAZING. The subtle movements and the eMOTIONNNN Gisela has always been my favorite villain, and probably one of my favorite characters as well. It’s easy to just flat out call her pure evil, but in Everblaze, when she’s about to jump off the cliff, Sophie describes her smile as ‘broken’ I believe, and I feel that shows us she genuinely believes what she’s doing is right, even though it’s hurting her son Amazing interpretation, love this sm! ❤
