I know people keep bringing up Kelly and how much they miss her but y'all know she has her own KZbin channel where you can watch her videos yes the relationship between her and Gabe didn't work out and not all relationships are forever. They do have a life outside of social media and we only see what's on that but all good/ fun things don't last forever we are all human we all make mistakes we all have that soul mate it just takes longer to find the right one when your constantly making videos and then your viewers demand an explanation when that's their business.

Sorry to hear about Cole's dad. He very likely did not die from eating the raw oyster, but developed a skin infection from a cut from the oyster or other contact with the oyster. The bacteria likely responsible, vibro vulnificus, can cause severe GI illness when infected through the GI tract (eating the oyster) and severe skin infection such as necrotizing fasciitis when infected through the skin. That being said, people can die from vibrio infection from eating oysters, but most people who do have risk factors such as old age (>70), diabetes, liver disease, alcoholism, or other diseases. Big fan of the channel!
@davidbarclay4968

Oysters harvested by professional oystermen have to be tagged which tells the registered boat, the date, time, and area from which they were havested. That tag is attached to the bushel bags the oystermen use. So, when they are shipped, those oysters are known.

I'm from cedar key FL just south of steinhatchee and I oysters for years in cedar key...and oysters in fact DO sit on the bottom in singles in some areas...we tong them up into a board until it's full then we cull then off the ones that are in clumps...and that oyster bar y'all are in is a gold mine..there's so much money on that bar, theres alot of nice oysters there...and where I'm from you have to have an SPL salt water product license to oyster...me and my cousin would go out and bring back 16 to 18 bushells all in about 6 hours to a shop and sell them...we had to tag each bushell with the zone we harvested them from and the date

Gabe. FYI: I've been eating raw oysters all my life (86 yrs old) here in WA State with no ill effect. However, we only take and eat oysters in moths that have an "R" in them (fall thru spring) when water is coldest. Also you never gather and eat oysters when there is a "red tide" as you can get very sick. Thanks for quality vid!
@randymack1234
@randymack1234 Жыл бұрын
First , congratulations on making it to 86 yrs old ! here in Florida, you can't go by months with "R's" in them. IE: Sept and Oct, Because the water is still hot ! Mid 80's . We always eat oysters , and seafood for Thanksgiving, instead of turkey . Raw on a cracker with a splash of hot sauce , yummy .

I'm a n old man now, an I've lived over half my life here. I was always told that you only get oysters that are under water at low tide. Any oysters that come out of water was called a coon oyster because it was easy for coons to get an eat.

I remember back in the 60s we go pick oysters some were South Miami with my parents. There was not sure if still is a little private beach we paid 50 cent. It was fenced off. On low tide you could walk out on the beach all oysters beds My home made speacial tool for each of us from a wooden handle putty knife he ground it down to a half inch blade that worked great faster cleaner and safer for us kids. We all sat there with our own plastic little beach buckets to put in when I had enough I wash them out good with beach water add lemon Tabasco and suck them down just hours of picking. I was 6 years old I never heard of anybody that died from eating oysters. I still love and eat them but not as much its been many years I haven't pick any fresh ones and way too expensive,

Gabe idea for fishing with oyster. Letting chicken livers soak in strawberry jello (just the powder mixed into the livers no extra water) for a (5-6)days will toughen the meat so it doesn’t just fall off a hook. Maybe it would work the same if you use oysters not sure.

It’s worth it to me, I love picking them and eating them raw right there. Been doing it since I was 7 years old and I’m 53 now. I don’t eat raw oysters from restaurants because I don’t know the storage and handling conditions of them. Also if I purchase a bushel of oysters I steam them on the grill until they just pop open. A good hand picked select oyster has a deliciously sweet and salty of the sea right off the oyster bar. 🤤😋👍🏻 first raw oyster I ever had at 7 my uncle dared me to eat one raw when I went with him to help pick a couple bushels, he offered me a shot of home made shine if I did it and I’ve been hooked ever since hooked on the shine as well 🤣🤣🤣
