I bleached my roots EIGHT TIMES (what exactly happened)

If you watched roots video, your will know I damaged my hair more lol with trying to bleach my roots and got it fixed and ended up bleaching my roots eight times XD Just wanted to explain everything that happened and if you have similar hair with mine, hopefully you will find this video helpful or informative!!
Please give me suggestions with what you think I should do with my future re growth ???? I would really like to redo my roots but maybe I can ask my colleague to help me ?? Should I try DIY again? lol I do want to master my hair tho and get it fully in my control cuz I'm a control freak XD

I think your hair looks really good now! BUT I think you should grow it into an ombré blonde, just to let your scalp really heal from all the bleaching. It can damage your hair follicules and really change the texture and thickness of the strand. It does already look ombreish in the roots, and it kind of makes it look natural Just to let your scalp and foliculles breath, you could keep a classy ombré that looks like a 4~6 months hairgrowth.

I literately just saw the title, and immediately thought "oh no, not again" :P But I am so happy it turned out ok in the end, and you really does look good. As someone who was bleaching my hair every 2-3 months for 3 years straight I would say, experiment within reason, but at some point the texture of your hair will just not get back to what it used to be, and especially not after everything you've done to it ;) I was at that point about two years ago, and decided to just grow it out and start fresh, meaning no dye at all until it is out (Except for a few highlights to soften the edges a bit)! So yeah, I've looked like a hot mess for about a year and a half now, but I have about 25 cm. of growth, and I can feel my hair getting healthier and healthier.

My hair is naturally black and I've dyed it light silver~ Took me about 2-3 times and a couple of months(since I didn't want overdo my hair). I used professional dye(it costs almost the same as normal) and my hair feels and looks absolutely okay c: With bleaching u just have to take time and take care/let your hair heal and it'll be okay~ Don't hold yourself back from trying something just because you're scared - we live only once ʕ´•ᴥ•`ʔﾉﾞ

Red Wood that and they are boys their hair is shorter. It is always trimmed so they cut out the damaged parts and they also grow it back to their natural hair colours and use all type of stuff to treat it.

Red Wood that’s not always the case. They have a different system in SK😬 Ex: Hani from EXID Head apparently bleed cause they did her hair all in one day🙅‍♀️ But since BTS have short hair it’s much easier to work with. Their scalp still gets damage🤦‍♀️

The hair color you've ended up with looks beautiful, but honestly I think it would be healthier for your hair if you grow it out black, cut off all the damaged ends and start fresh trying the 40 volume method in one single bleaching session. I'd love to hear you compare the experiences

I've been doing hair for 14 years. I suggest bleaching your hair with 30 volume, not 40 volume. You can get chemical burns on your scalp with 40 volume bleach. 30 volume bleach is the strongest bleach recommended to put on your scalp. It looks like your roots still don't match your ends but sounds like it's better than all the other things that you tried. I will try to bleach with 30 volume and also apply heat while it is Lifting and then rinse it & tone with a violet toner but don't tone it until the bleach Has Lifted your hair light enough for your liking. If I were you I wouldn't put any blue toners in. Just the violet. And only put it where the yellow parts are. The last piece of advice I will give you is to make sure not to overlap the bleach on to already bleached hair when you are applying the bleach and also when you're applying the toner, do not overlap it on top of the blonde that is already toned. Happy bleaching!

Hey girl, I have the same issue and was platinum blonde for a couple of years. Now I have a platinum streak in the front, ombré ends in the same color, and highlights throughout. It's the least high maintenance. Bleach twice with a 30 vol, and leave it slightly yellow, then you can follow by bleaching when roots come in and it won't break off. Sleep with olaplex for several nights before and after to keep the integrity and I use Malibu mixable shots, condition twice once with protein, second with shine and always let it air dry. There is a beautiful girl named Nicole who has dark skin and black hair and is a platinum blonde. She explains her processes and it helped me find out what's best. Good luck! Also, I now use guy tangs my dentity pearl silver as a toner, which truly is made for asians or dark haired people and his cream bleach which also is meant for dark Asian hair.

I know its so much hard work, but honestly the platinum blonde suits you so much. The integrity of your hair won’t reverse back so you might as well have fun with it for as long as you can tolerate it! I have to commend you that you have done your homework on your "color theory." Yes, the approach of using a stronger developer for less time is thought to be less damaging. As opposed to using a lower developer for longer sits on the hair and "beats" away at the hair structure. Think of it like a T-shirt that you bleach once to make it white as opposed to a T-shirt that you bleach and batter away multiple times, both are fibers. You can also put the Olaplex #1 in your toner. Have you thought of using Redken Shades EQ as your toner mixed with Olaplex #1? Shades is wonderfully conditioning. I may be playing devil's advocate here but I think that you have come way to far and are way too invested to just grow out the black. I hope you continue to learn and educate yourself with the bleach, because I would love to see you rock a pick or turquoise bob!! :D

Do a cute root smudge/root shadow to help the grow out process! Don’t have to go crazy with it, just something slight so the grow out looks intentional and blended :)

It looks really great! I know it has been such a pain but I'd love to see you master it. I do think doing 40 vol and doing additional in 20 only if needed. I am white and my hair takes bleach tooooo well so I mostly use 20. I can get mine almost as white as yours with 1 go. Lucky me! but for your hair? Definitely 40.

I´ve been doing my hair for the last 4 years! I´ve used almost every color available! Mi hairs is black, thicc latino hair. It takes up to 4 bleaching to get a level 8/9 so I totally get it! What I normally do is moisture my hair with oils for 2 days before the bleaching and then I do all the bleaching process with moisturizer in between. I use a 40 and a 10 developer to have a 30ish devoloper. Not sure if you understand it xD hahaha!!! its a long process but it doesnt get as damaged and porous as when I used to go to the salon for them to do it.

You should give your hair break and if you don’t want your hair to be just blonde, you can use semi-permanent. It’s less damaging plus you would rock out multiple colors. Btw, I love your videos and your boys are so precious!❤️

Yes I'm a hair stylist and hearing you say you bleached it eight times with 20v OMG. Lol. Just use 40v once, get your hands on olaplex or the Ph bonder from Redken somehow and tone it with the t18 from Wella 👌🏼 Or if you really want to avoid damage and don't mind the appearance of a little roots I recommend asking a hairdresser to give you a shadow root. Trying to save you the time and damage Nami! 🙏🏼💞

Lol I’m not buying that a certified hair stylist is recommending wella or using 40vol instead of doing a gradual process. As you could see in the initial bleaching video they *did* use 40vol and it still wasn’t a one and done thing. That’s literally the worst advice I can’t believe her friend told her that was okay.

I really only recommend using wella toners bc it’s the easiest thing to figure out what color to get. I use the wella t14 for the more orange looking parts and the t18 for the pale yellow parts :)

Great video. It looks extremely natural with a little bit of dark root showing. You could bleach next time but only to an 8 level followed by a darker neutral colour as a shadow root.

Using 40 vol once is definitely safer than 20 vol multiple times, but you have to be really really careful if you're doing it at home - it's pretty hard for your hair to fall out from 20 vol but much more likely using anything stronger, it's not a good idea to leave it on for much more than about 20 mins. Your hair looks awesome blonde btw, really suits you :)
