@righteousbuilds357612 күн бұрын
@@Paulscole3 I actually haven't ever tried any of the Dayton audio amps. I like having way more power than I need, and the speaker power amps provide just that. Ive worked with ICE amps, and to my ear, they just don't sound as good as the Speaker power units.
@Paulscole38 күн бұрын
@@righteousbuilds3576 I think you'd be pleasantly surprised with the SPA500 or SPA1000. They're both class AB amps, built like tanks. I did check out the GSG speaker power units, and WOW! It's hard to compete with amps that put out that much power. I've built one of their Flat Packs. Nice kits for people who don't know much about woodworking or measurements, but want to build their own subs and sound good too. I couldn't build a second one because I don't like being limited to one shape or limited woofer selection, etc... I just bought some Thiel drivers, practically brand new that a guy bought in their closing auction and only tested them to make sure they worked. They're the ones that go in the Thiel SmartSub 12. I'm using a speaker power sp1-2400ht. It's rated at 2400 watts at 4 ohms, but its also 2 ohm stable, so it'll push more than that when it wants to. It's pushing a 2 ohm load on that driver right now.
