I bought multiple shirts hoping for custom Karl doodles and other crew member signatures. Thankfully I did get some smileys :)

Not at first, but after multiple washes it might. Try using cold water, less detergent and a slower cycle to slow the fading. You could also hand wash it, or if you really want to keep it there forever without worry of fade, try writing over it with a bleach pen so when the sharpie fades, you can still have the signature on there just bleached
