If you've been saving up for years to go on vacation to another country how are you supposed to get back to that country within a year just to claim your bag. Or what happens when your bag gets sent to a totally different airport than your destination? Like the guy from Venezuela going to Miami for instance. His bag could've ended up on the wrong plane & ended up in Detroit. He would never know to look in Detroit. That's how these bags get lost. Airline error not passenger. I just hope these people had travel insurance.
@feliciareece45025 жыл бұрын
Angel Mary this is why you put tags on your luggage that has your address, phone number or even your email, that way someone can contact you to get your luggage, and typically if the airline loses your luggage they will eventually track it down and send it to you, but if the owner can’t be identified then it ends up at the mercy of the airport.
@AngelMary5 жыл бұрын
@@feliciareece4502 yes I agree with you. You should also put identifying information inside your suitcase incase the outside tags get ripped off. Unfortunately that happens quite often.

@ambersdarkfox6 жыл бұрын
As someone with actual technical training let me clear some of this up. When you deal in technology there is not just one piece. There is the physical hardware with this case that's the laptop and then there is the data on the laptop. They are both not the same thing. When you buy the laptop through any means you don't necessarily own the data on the laptop. Now if there is copyrighted material on the laptop then you don't own the copyrighted material just because you own the laptop. There are certain things too that you can get in trouble for like if you displaying private information pertaining to an person that is considered protected by law. Like you can't simply just display someones passport that's protected information that you could very well get in trouble for. You don't own someone else's passport information, you don't own someone's bank information and you don't own pieces of people's personal lives. It just doesn't work that way. You might think you do but that wrong line of thinking might land you in legal trouble someday. Now if you get a hold of a laptop whatever you can go ahead and search through it. Just know that if there is anything illegal on it than you may have to answer for it. Those movies you seen I would wager are most likely illegally downloaded IE Piracy. You don't own anything pirated. It's considered stolen content. You can possibly get in trouble for that. Had something really been bad bad authorities are likely to take it and you may or may not see it again. Even if you own the laptop you are still invading someone's privacy. People don't lose privacy because you own a laptop. No you won't get in trouble for someone's vacation photos. Just know that because you own a laptop doesn't necessarily mean you own the data on it. It can get really tricky legally so you want to check your local laws about certain bits of data because it can vary but that vary could mean the difference of actual legal issues. Things are actually really complicated and getting more complicated all the time. It is worth taking the time and effort to check up on things because it's not worth the legal issues just because you want to peak through someone else's photos ext. Now these guys did look but keep in mind they had tact about it. They blurred out personal information and faces. They were just looking and not trying to do anything harmful. Anything really bad probably would have been completely blurred out or cut.You always want to have some tact with these sorts of things.

John Lambert now, if the police had actually confiscated that particular luggage it would not have been at an auction! Believe me....nothing of value that's been confiscated by cops is gonna ever fall into the hands of anyone but the cops or...their families! No ifs, ands or buts...just ain't gonna happen, EVER!

Think about it, when people are traveling they usually pack some of their favorite clothes/valuables. If you pay ~$100 for a big suitcase, you can more than likely sell whatever you find inside it for double that. Extrapolate that to multiple suitcases. You get the picture.

Call the lost luluggage claims at each airport you were at to change planes. Call the Carrier(s) you flew with and continue to ask them to look for your bag(s). If you have pictures that show what your luggage looks like it is very helpful also. A tip I would give you is take a photo of your bag just after you pack it for your trip. Another tip is permanently write your name and address on your bag, either inside or out, preferably on the outside as we don't always open every bag, it just is not possible with the volume of list luggage that comes through every day. Maybe have someone embroider your name on your bag. Maybe see on a coin purse or clear plastic "window" to put your name, address, phone number. All the things you put on one of those paper tags held on by a little rubber band. I hope this helps in some small way.

you all are missing the key point here, its clear that all these bags did not have update information related to the owners on the tags. The airports are legally required to reach to the contact info on the tag of the bags. if that its out of date or no answer is received,the airport can not store all this unclaimed luggage in hope that some one shows up to claim it. It gets sold at auction. Im sorry you had out dated info. Better luck next time

@carlanthonymckeown33486 жыл бұрын
It is the airport's job to attempt to return the bags, and the customers responsibility to chase it. If a bag remains lost, the customer is paid compensation. The airport sells off the property to cover the losses. These dudes bought the bags for $1000. That's a huge amount of money. You are suggesting they pay thousands and then return everything of value they find to the already compensated previous owners. If they where a charity with public funding then maybe they could, but otherwise the previous owners win big with their items back AND the monetary value of them given by the airline, and that would happen at the expense of people like this-who may have families of their own to feed and who are simply trying to make a living in the reclamation and second hand trade industries.
@Michelle-fi3ze6 жыл бұрын
@@carlanthonymckeown3348 you making this too complicated and too much about money. . If they can find the owners it should go back to them period. It is theirs. Whether they got compensation or not. If it does get returned, well the question of the competition then comes up. However the owners cannot be found by these guys (esp if the airline can't) so yes buy it and it's yours. But don't post it on youtube.
@qoyqoiy34956 жыл бұрын
Michelle why should they worry about returning it, when its the owners duty to do it and also the owners probably had enough time to track it down. They purchased it so its now legally theirs and that makes them the new owner thus they are not obliged to do anything. I myself have lost luggage once but after just 15 minutes of talking to some people at the collection point it was settled and my luggage was returned a few days later.
