Interesting viewing, even from down in New Zealand. Enjoy just seeing how the used car scene is in the UK. I watch a couple of other channels, UK Salvage Rebuilds and Chops garage. I have noticed you have more choices of vehicles that have manual transmissions fitted, cars in New Zealand are more likely to have Automatic Transmissions. We have a lot of used cars come in via used Japanese Imports, which has seen us getting cars with better standard accessories fitted. Our family cars are a 2018 Kia Sportage AWD and as my run around car I drive a 2012 Suzuki Kizashi AWD. I also notice cars in the UK are plagued with rust issues because of the use of Winter and salt being laid on the road, as a result our older cars are in better condition and are usually rust free. As I said I enjoy the format of your site and like to follow your journey, all the best with your business. Cheers John Wilson

Thanks for the observations. Here in the UK we expect most jeeps to rot out in 10 to 12 years old, with the weather and mud. Had a Isuzu Rodeo 2.5TD bought new 2011 and rotted our recently, even though engine and gearbox really good. The end up being scrapped, which is a great shame. Greetings from Pembrokeshire.

Buy a plastic so called landrover with an ingenium engine at your peril . Quickest way to empty your bank and still leave you stranded . Wouldn’t touch one ever , got a skip full of these engines mostly with less than 30k miles on them
@viyansen338711 күн бұрын
But what is the problem ?
@kevinproctor573010 күн бұрын
@ they all have cam timing issues , the worst ever engine fitted to a landrover in my opinion. Just full of cheap manufactured components making them very unreliable. Good for my business though , over the last 3/4 years I have done 100’s of them all with failing oil sensor issues all with crap cams , most of them with cracked or warped heads , whatever it is I have to remove the engine and rebuild it , I’ve a skip full of knackered ingenium engines and all less than 30k miles on them . I’d say only 5% of the amount I’ve done are because the owners are just idiots not looking after the vehicle properly but the other 95% are down to these notorious engines . Range rovers , disco’s , defenders ‘ even had jaguars with the same issues . I wouldn’t own one if you gave me it for free off the production line . Landrover have seriously messed up with these because it’s 1500 to 2000 for me to sort them so what about a main landrover dealer costs , hence why people are a second one to hopefully rob the parts if and I stress IF those are any good which I seriously doubt . Best advice I can give you as a 67 yr old landrover guy is buy a Toyota hilux if you want modern , if not an old then a series 3 defender put an ally chassis on it refurb the engine properly don’t skimp on any servicing with it and it’ll last your lifetime , it’ll look old won’t have a sat nav won’t have heated seats or dab radio but it’ll climb a mountain up and down
