I had the three Tolkien books from when they were first published. I didn't keep them, though I really liked them. They ended up in the care of a school library, where my mother worked. I really like this channel. It reminds me of the beauty and importance of books. When I was growing up I started to buy, often three books a week, and then the next week buy three more. I would read voraciously. I ended up with more books than I could care for. They ended up piled on my bedroom floor against the walls. I just loved reading. Now, in my old age, I still read, but I look with envy at the books and the stories you are able to tell about them.

India paper was and likely still is used to print proofs of engraved stamp plates. The paper is thin, but takes ink very well. Due to the thinness of the paper and the pressure needed to pull ink from the engraved plate, it is often printed with a card backing to keep the paper from tearing during the printing.

The opening of Ivanhoe talks about the trees that I can see from the window of the very room that I am in right now at my parent's house. Though Scott incorrectly believed that they were the ruminant of medieval forest, they were actually only planted about a hundred years before he was born. Writing about that is what got me a place on my Medieval Studies Masters Degree

Designedly, there's depreciation to deal with the misjudgements which can still turn into free money - maybe.
