So we've bought a fair few things from the website Wish in the past, but we've never ventured into the gadget tab... I kept seeing ads for suspiciously cheap electronics, so I decided to buy 5 of them and test them out with another questionable Wish haul!

Whenever I use Wish I always look for a review with a picture, if there isn't at least one review with a pic attached, I don't buy it. I avoid clothes and electronics though.

Saf, for the drone you needed to download an app for the drone, connected the wi-fi of your iPhone to the drone (yes it sounds weird) and use the app to record and see everything from the camera, aaaaand the footage is instantly saved in your iPhone, I know it because I actually order the same drone 😂 but the quality of the camera is awful!

Yes! Hearing aids are expensive partially because they have to be customised specially for the individual (and each of your ears is different too). A trained audiologist with a degree has to assess you beforehand and everything. There could be a lot done to make them more affordable, but there are legitimate reasons why they're not, like... $4

when my parents were together, my mom wasn't really festive with christmas but then a year after they split, my mom wanted christmas lights so she bought one of those projectors (I think from target or somewhere) to slowly get into it. I bought my first drawing tablet on Wish. It lasted me over a year and a half before I lost the pen. Never had any issues with the functionality though, it was a great little tablet. The only reason I didn’t just get a new pen is because you had to order it from Japan or something and it would’ve taken a couple weeks, and I didn’t want to wait that long.

For anyone who sees this, I bought something from Wish recently and was NOT pleased with my order, so I went to review it. My review was never shared by Wish. There was a disclaimer saying that the team at Wish would check my review before letting it be submitted. I think they only show positive reviews, or at least they may upload only select negative ones so it still keeps the products in some kind of a good light. Just because something has 5 stars on Wish won't always mean it's worth a 5 star review. Just putting it out there. 😬

Yeah, the actually expensive parts of most drones are the cameras and motors. If the drone is powerful enough to lift with the GoPro attached then voila! Functioning drone. But the learning curve for flying a drone can be a bit steep on some models.

I don't know if you read the comments but it bothered me you didn't get to tweet with the watch !!! you deserve to tweet so I internet searched "why the sim didn't work?!" so I found out that this specific watch can only take a 2G sim card and most new world countries have turned off their 2G networks. Between not linking the phone to the camera and not formatting the cards tried for the glasses, it does make me wonder about technical ability. Generally for drones/glasses/cameras, you want to first format the card on a PC to make sure there is nothing on it. Then when you put it in the device will often be a message to format for the specific device (for glasses often will just auto-format), if there is anything on the card then they often will not format. Seeing a lot of comments begging Saf not to buy from wish any longer because of slave/child labour. I just want to make sure people are aware that Wish does not make the products. It is a marketplace for vendors, not a manufacture. The items are coming directly from the manufacture instead of through a secondary source, meaning there is no middle-man who wants to squeeze as much money out of them as they can. The products are cheap and bad quality because they are mass-produced and Wish does not have any quality control. I'm sure some of them come from slave/child labour, but I think we need to remember that all of the products we purchase are also marked up at an insane rate by our stores so they can make more profit. If you remove that markup, you'd see a lot more prices similar to these in your Walmarts and Targets. If you remove the quality control, you'd have your shelves lined with items like these. We should be aware that there's a chance of child labour in everything we buy, regardless where it comes from, expensive or not, but we should not assume poor quality and low prices automatically mean that's where its from. Even some of our biggest and most expensive brands have been caught taking advantage of child and slave labour before. Spending more money for something doesn't mean better wages or safer working conditions either. It just gives us a false sense of hope hiding behind a 200% markup. Be aware people, quality and price means a shitty manufacture for sure, but it does not always mean the worst possible thing. Sometimes, the worst things are hiding behind what we see as the best. Realistically, if you want to be sure not to support child/slave labour, you'll have to research everything you buy or only buy locally sourced products. And even in the case everyone did that, those of who are working in those conditions aren't going to be paid or treated any better. They will just lose the only pay they do have.

I love this video because you're honest about what you bought, and honest about your review. I would say though, as someone that works at a tech company: never plug in something to your computer that you bought off a sketchy website/website known for knock-offs! My company does a lot of work with the government so we have to take all sorts of training, and the kinds of things that can be put into innocuous electronics is pretty incredible. (See: Russia and the complimentary 'pens' they gave away at the 2013 G20 Summit, which were blatant listening and data gathering devices). Macs are 100% not immune, since Apple and its iOS is so popular now. You may not think you're that important to a foreign government, but there is a reason personal data is considered the oil of the 21st century and some viruses/malicious software is less about an individual and more about crippling an array of things/people. Also, sometimes, its about getting onto a network--not necessarily a different computer. If you take a laptop to a place and use their wifi, viruses can migrate through network weaknesses. It's always best to charge things via a wall, and if you can afford it, have a dupe computer that is completely wiped, just to test things like this. This isn't feasible for everyone though, as it's expensive, so use at your own risk (or try and use a Linux OS, which is a pain in the a** for everyday users, but is unusual enough to generally safeguard you, though not foolproof). Ultimately, there's no way to be 100% safe, and I appreciate you taking the risk to sate our curiosity over these strangely cheap items! Love your channel!

Please be very careful with buying cheap technology from sites like Wish and Ebay. Often electronics that are so cheap don't meet safety guidelines (because they're often rip-offs, or made in sweatshop conditions) or are made with poor circuit boards that can cause electric shocks or fire risk. :/
