Seems accurate, annoying, I get people trying to make money off the net but not by misrepresenting or click baiting. I'm sure his dad knew before he shelled out the $ if it was real or not. More importantly who cares if you're only gonna butcher a Pontiac legend with incorrect parts etc. Ames Performance Engineering makes everything you need to make the Goat 🐐 New and you can find basically every part for a 68 🐐 and it's clearly a driver not a trailer queen with no original drive train, color etc. We had an old saying, back in High School in the late 80s, " paint it white and sell it" because it showed less waves, bondo and the like. Too bad I was hoping to see someone asking a legit question about real Pontiac info. I have had several GTOs and could be very helpful but that's not needed because a year has passed by and No updates on this car, and putting non Pontiac parts (drive train) is bad enough but truck parts. SMH Oh well, IMO I just wasted some time. 😅 he sure got lots of good info. To each their own I guess opinions are like A-holes and mine is as unimportant as theirs. All I have to say, THAT'S STRAIGHT FACTS IS, THE GOAT 🐐 RULES PONTIAC #1 THE ORIGINAL MUSCLECAR. NICE WHITE 68 DON'T RUIN IT. KEEP IT ALL PONTIAC AND MAYBE THROW A 400 428 0R 455 BLOCK, IN THAT CAR AND MAKE IT A KICK ASS STREET ROD LIKE HIS DAD HAD IN THE OLD," BACK IN THE DAY" PIC. RANT OVER...✌ BEST OF LUCK ON YOUR CHANNEL MAKE THAT CASH JUST PLEASE LEAVE THE GTO OUT.OF IT. NOT A HATER. ✌ 😮😂😂

@@angelo_giachetti "on the net for 20 years"!!!! I got my GTO in 1983 and my dad and I checked the VIN using an article in "Used Car Price Guide". Every desirable muscle car has been cloned for many years and some are so much easier than others. Many people won't even buy a Shelby Mustang unless it is in the Shelby registry with documentation all the way back to it's original owner. VIN Code Decoded for 1968 Pontiac GTO. 242378 G 126790 2 = Pontiac Make 42 = GTO 37 = 2 door hardtop 8 = Model Year 1968 G = Assembly Plant "G" for Framingham, MA 126790 = This is the Sequential production numbers for this car. In this case, it's number 126,790 produced. Also, looking into "Classic Industries" car parts is a great place to start for these older cars. I don't have the car anymore, I could never afford a full restoration, but I could make it look nice and dumped all my money in it. Nothing is ever going to be perfect. I'm 25 and might sound like a boomer, but that's a clean, good looking car. Put it together and have some fun. Make some memories. I've had more fun and more "memories" in my Tacoma than any other vehicle for one. And it's just a truck. The only other car in the world for me is a '68 GTO. Enjoy it while you have it! I just finished restoration of my 65 GTO. Total price for sheet metal, engine rebuild, replacement of seat covers etc was over $60,000. You can not convince me that about 1/2 the 65 GTOs still in existence are not fake. I bought my 65 in 1980 for $500. Mine was the only 65 on the road for 20 mile radius at that time. It's impossible that there wasn't a reduction of them between then and say the 90s, with gas prices increasing, wrecks, junk yards crushing them for the high steel market etc. Today I know of 4 within the same radius and I see them at car shows nearly all the time. Years ago my brother and I searched and found quite a few "barn finds". Contrary to those youtube and TV shows, where they clean the car up and have it running in no time. 99.999% of those shows are 100% BS. Anyone who has actually restored a barn find will tell you that. Barn finds will have trashed interiors whether by rodents and or mildew. Engines, fuel lines, gas tank ,brakes etc. Can not sit for years apon years without going through and replacing nearly everything. Is your 68 a fake? More than likely but if the person you bought it from, or one of the previous owners, was careful swapping the serial numbers no one will know! How do I know this? I know someone who has restored muscle cars for 30 years. He's tried several times to buy my 65 before I restored it. He knew where I could scrap the body without the title or serial number. Low and behold he has restored 2 65 GTOs. No coincidence at all I'm sure. I'm also an old school restorer, if you're not even putting a Pontiac engine into it, let alone the original or period appropriate why do you care if it's real? It won't be a "real GTO when you're done anyway.

Who’s whining about the dually, sheesh. First world problems. I think they called the bumpers “dura bumpers”. Most of the aftermarket parts fit like 💩. GM had full electrical system swap kits for LS based engines maybe they have LT stuff now. Holley stepped up their game with in swap mounts and parts as well. I like how the seller was worried about the hood fitment. “It’s ok man it’s a project.” The GOAT. I’m excited for this one, I hope these vlogs get the views.
