Gorgeous car! That is one to keep in that condition. A far FAR better car than anything newer that 2010. Trust me
@thomashill29655 ай бұрын
That's a really pristine example of a rare edition you have there. My 2001 GT is the same color, but with a tan interior. Something to seriously consider is to have the car oil-coated with something like the Krown or NH Oil rustproofing treatment, even if you don't intend to drive it in the winter. When I brought my Grand Prix, I didn't realize how vulnerable the rockers are on the W-body GM cars. The platform has been the same one from 1988-on. The rockers on mine are history, and it's only the ground effects pieces that hide the fact. I only paid $1700. for it eight years ago, so I can't complain.

You can't believe the hype. I've owned five. A series one in my 1994 Regal has much less power ( 170 hp and 220 ft lbs of torque), but has the best trasmission of them all with it's non-electronic shifting trans. The 3800 Series II in my former 2005 LeSabre had a variety of engine and transmission problems, It was a one owner car with about 74K miles on it and it's original owner was a senior woman.

Any of the FWD "modern" era Grand Prixs are always a great buy if you're looking for a cheap daily or something of that nature. I believe they came out in 1990 and continued up until 2009 or so. Very reliable, cheap, and easy to work on. One of my friends had a 96 Grand Prix sedan that had over 300k miles on it and no engine or transmission issues. The rust finally ate the trailing arm mounts off, and he decided to not fix it and scrap it. These W-body grand prixs are also known to be very good demo derby cars as they have a very solid chassis.

I come from 60s muscle ownership back in the day, got my lic. in the mid 70s and bought muscle. I test drove one of these GPs with a supercharger when new, they drove nice but the V6 still provided no where near the Ooomph I was looking for in a performance car. I wasn't completely again satisfied in pure performance again until I purchased my current car being a 2017 Camaro Super Sport with 6 speed manual Trans. That Futha Mucker is pure performance and driving precision fun. Blows away anything from the 60s, though I still respect all those 60s muscle for doing what they did with without computers, supercharges, 3 and 4 speed gear boxes and bias ply tires. Add a modern transmission and modern tires to the old muscle cars and they would be even faster being closer to modern performance.

That's a good car/ survivor! Be glad it's got the naturally aspirated 3.8L V6 as that engine is even today one of the BEST engines GM ever made! Basically bulletproof. Keep it nice as it's indeed a modern classic and this is coming from a Ford dude here! I own a 2010 Ford Fusion SPORT first gen body style and it's basically a rare find now if any in good shape. Living in NE OH most cars from the first part of the decade have bit the dust due to rust. Mines stored winters was bought brand new by my Dad. Also a sweet car that's underappreciated.

The spoiler was only on the Limited Edition. It was different than the one used on the Special Editions from 2000, 2001, and 2002. The Dual, Dual Exhaust is the same as the 2000, 2001, and 2002 Special Editions. The 2003 was a short model year, as the 2004 came out in March of 2003. Your car is missing the engine cover. The dealer removed it as part of a safety recall.. Enjoy your Grand Prix. I had two of them, and I regret selling my 2001. BTW I didn't see the heated seat control on the console in the left front area. Mine had a heated driver's seat, but no passenger's seat. I don't know why Pontiac did that. My currrent Bonneville has both front seats heated.
