Very clean grader. Hope you put some TLC in it and get her running.

Yes it is clean lookin piece of equipment, it just needs a little TLC and a little goin over, under the hood and maybe some other places. If I was gonna use it in the verylate evenins, I'd make sure the lights all worked and I might do that anyway just to be on the safe side.

Very cool! Like you I've kind of wanted an Allis grader of some sort for quite awhile. Have passed on some 'speed patrols' they take up a lot of room! If a 'speed maintainer' ever comes up for sale..... Had to break out the Allis bible to get the right terms for them. A later one like in this video would be cool too. Looking for info, check out the unofficial Allis board, there is an industrial equipment section. Good luck with the project!

That grader looks great. You won't regret buying it. I bought an Allis Chalmers DD motor grader a few week ago. I believe it was late 1960's manufacture. I need parts. Do you know any AC graders being parted out?
@Randys_Relics2 ай бұрын
I'm not aware of any, seems like parts are pretty scarce when it comes to grader specific items. Engine parts are easy to come by but that's about it.

Thanks for the tip on the creeper gear! Everything rolls free, the rear tires were wedged on the dozer blade.

What size was the trailer you moved it on and how did it pull with the weight that far back? Look at one myself and would like to be able to move it without hiring someone
@Randys_Relics5 ай бұрын
The trailer has 7,000 lb axles, 20 ft long. I think it could use a little more tongue weight but it wasn't terrible. Though I'm not sure how it would do at highway speeds. But at 55 miles an hour it did pretty good. The shipping weight listed for this grader is 10,220 lb, 3,190lb on the front wheels and 7,030lb on the rear wheels.

I know the 170 allis Chalmers has 6 cylinder motors in them my neighbor has one
@Randys_Relics5 ай бұрын
It's possible he has a 180. A 170 only ever came with a 226Ci gas or a 236 CI Perkins diesel. I'm not sure if there's even enough room to squeeze a 6-cylinder into a 170.
