Underrated cars. They suffer from the perception that they're just a stretched Qashqai. In reality they're altogether more refined and relaxed cars with a less sporty, more relaxed character. Also more dependable (the QQ was built in the UK, the XT wasnt). The trim level you have (ntec, i think) there is the one you want - all the goodies except the over firm leather seats and illogical 19" alloys of the Tekna. The 1.6 engine copes rather well with the car's bulk and is darn economical, and you have the 7 seats. This will sell all day long.

I've always been a bit puzzled by the X-Trail - it is like it wants to be a light off-road/utility vehicle but it definitely isn't. Though I do like the look of the new one - if they'd paired it up with something serious engine wise and tougher duty suspension, etc. I'd have probably bought one - I'm struggling to find something which hits the spot as a replacement for the old Pathfinder (R51).

They share a chassis with Renault (and the diesel engines come from the latter) but the X trail is Nissan, including all the petrol engines, the gearboxes, the 4WD mechanics. The X trail was developed in Japan by Nissan. The Renault Koleos is the Renault version, but this too was developed by Nissan and built by Renault Korea. My car has Yuasa on the battery. I guess Yuasa is building cars now..

It never ceases to amaze me on how little pride the general public have in their cars... it takes all of 30 mins to clean a relatively clean car out and if you really don't want to do it, it costs like 20 quid to get it done.

I feel like for most of us Americans we just see it as expensive wallet sapping appliances we use because that's the only option for us. People just don't enjoy the car owning experience anymore with each passing day. I like to keep my car clean. But my current Honda Fit has been very unreliable. It's hard to take any pride in it. I make sure it's kinda clean and the orange paint honestly hides dirt very well. When I start seeing streaks from rain I clean it.

I have one of these, also with 100k on it. So long as you change the oil every 10k miles and not as per service schedule 18k miles they'll be fine. They like a long run once in a while, and like all diesels hate stop start traffic. It's got 128hp by the way. You probably should check the timing end oil seal, as I suspect that's leaking at that age. And while there change the timing chain and tensioners. Normal interval is 180k miles for that. Finally, if its a bit sluggish to start when cold, change the glow plugs. They are as boring as chuff, but they do what you want them to, all day long.

Heaps of these in Australia, mainly 2.5 petrol with CVT. Known to be prone to head gasket failure with the CVT very unreliable. A major problem is the placing of the A/C condenser behind the dashboard which is an all day job to replace. Cheap as but, so the money you save on purchase you can put towards repairs.

Been driving everywhere in Europe and outside Europe even in Maroc! Very comfortable seating for long distance, and good in winter with heating seats front and back, cool and warm cup holder and excellent view out, good 360 degrees camera. People who vary their A/C from 16 Celsius to 30 Celsius and touch the fan speeds drive me insane too 😂 20 - 22 and press the bloody Auto button…

Algae/moss not mould, means that side of the car faced north when it was parked outside. Ugh, my misses always messes with the climate, set's it to max or min rather than just set a comfortable temp and let the climate do the work.

Old people take blood thinners and can get cold even in summer which is why the thermostat cranked up , stop judging everyone just because you're young , healthy and lack understanding of others needs 🤣 Cracking result and a great buy for someone 👍

X-trail and Qashqai has common issue of Fly Wheel and clutch plates... but once you change them to good brand.. they last quite long...

Matt, please don't take this the wrong way but I am not sure on your new cam for going around the car. The shot is not wide and in some cases the camera shoots off - I think your iPhone did a better job. Please don't be mad. okloveyoubye
