**Edit 2** Solar has contacted me back, and they're giving me a reduced price on the guitar. The amount is fair, so I'm keeping the guitar! **EDIT** I contacted Solar about the damage, but haven't heard back from them. They did say that my claim ticket was submitted. I will update this comment when I hear back from them. We'll have to see how it goes

@@musty33421 i had one a few yrs ago, and sold it before I got a chance to do the video. I was gonna shoot it out against the epiphone 84 explorer. I'll look into getting another one and putting it to the test. It's was built extremely well. Better than the Epiphone. The neck was a little to thick for my liking. And the body is small compared to other explorers

The Snakebite seems like a stretched explorer. It looks longer from headstock to bottom than any other explorer. Not that it is but that it looks like it. May be because of the Snakebite's headstock.

It's an odd take on the explorer shape for sure! When they first came out, I wasn't much for them, but they've grown on me over the years. Once I started realizing that it was designed to be a more comfortable form of the explorer. So, I'm really interested in getting one. They used to be more on the market it seems than they are these days. I'd like to get a made in Korea version, in white

@@DeweyJHall1 The Snakebyte isn't the one I'm thinking of. It is a little wonky looking, however the one I am refering to looks like a wood body, but the headstock is longer than a firebird headstock. That is the one that looks crazy long.

@@gururcanb no, it's a 24 in scale. The scale length is slightly smaller than gibsons scale length

@@gururcanb you'll have to use 11-52 strings on this one if you want to to play d standard. Becuase of the slightly smaller scale length, the strings have a looser feel. I have a MX copy hanging on the back wall there. If you want, I can put them side by side, in the follow up video to this one, so you can see the size comparison. This solar is a full size explorer tho, not small like the harley benton

@@DeweyJHall1 Most of the time if you buy a guitar or bass online, or order one over the phone or such, they are shipped from a warehouse here in the USA. Usually, they ship a lot of instruments at once to the warehouse and then store them. Most companies say they are QC and then boxed up for shipment so they can ship fast when the instrument is ordered. In that case most of the time it will be taped shut and look like it hadn't been opened since it left the factory. If you order from and outside company and it is shipped from there then it may get inspected by customs upon arrival at a port of entry.
